Thank you so much for your video... I can't believe I can now play "From the Begining"....It was one of the reasons I picked up a guitar 40 yrs. ago...but I never put in the time...then hooked on drugs..then 20 yrs. in prison...now clean and living a good Christian life...so I decided to try my hand at guitar again. Got out of prison 4 months ago, bought a new Breedlove and started practicing. Never thought I'd have the skill to play this song...but you got me there..a 40 yr. long, hard knock journey...and a dream has finally come true. You're a great teacher and have given me the inspiration to continue down this righteous path. God bless my friend.

I agree, this artist coincidentally appeared in my life the exact same day he passed away, I was introduced to King Crimson and I immediately started researching Greg Lakes life after listening to their first album.. I could already feel how important the loss was for progressive rock culture. "From the beginning" was the first song I heard from Emerson, Lake and Palmer and I was completely captivated by their sound. You have always taught songs I´ve loved, form Led Zep, to Steely Dan, and now ELP. Now that I have the chance, Thank you for being the best guitar teacher on the internet, I really enjoy and appreciate all the work you put into your lessons, I really get to learn a lot and not only about how to play guitar! This whole comment was meant to ask if you could look into the guitar solo in this song, but I often just digress when I talk about good music! After all I learned from you I could probably get it if I listen to it many times with my guitar in hand.. but it´s so much easier to learn it from you... only if you feel it´s worth the time. Again thank you so much for your time, keep rocking! lml

As a novice guitarist, I truly appreciate your attention to detail. So many teachers on KZbin are posting videos with incorrect chording. Good intentions aside, why would someone do that? I'm not at this level of playing, but I'm working on it and you help me aspire to greater things than the typical open chords and strumming patterns. You're thorough without yammering on, precise without coming across as pedantic. There's just enough note theory to expand my brain, but not overload it. I don't mean to embarrass you with praise, but I feel the need to underscore why your videos mean so much to me.

Thanks a lot ! For all of us for whom the music of ELP was important, and even necessary, in our teenage days, as still today. Learning to play this wonderful song will be a tribute to us, and a thank you for all the happiness we have had listening to them. THANKS for that

Just a fantastic job Andy. I've been playing guitar for 40 years and I can always count on your lessons to have all of the detail I'm looking for and you always make sure to get it right, not just "good enough." Thank you for your fantastic tutorials.

I played in a band when I was in high school 60 years ago. I still have an Epiphone acoustic that I bought 50 years ago but haven't really played in more than 40 years. You take so much time and repeat what you've shown to reinforce it. That's terrific. You make it seem like I could play this. You make it look so easy. Really, you're a wonderful, patient teacher. I may see if I can get my guitar in tune and give this a try.

I knew most of this and was taught by an accomplished player. The fact that my teacher played it the same way as this guy proves that it is the right one. Subbed right away.

Those chord extensions really help define the sound and add color. To me, it is this technique that creates emotion and appeal that the great songs usually seem to have. The extra notes help with tension and release when done correctly, something that is lacking greatly in modern music. Greg Lake was awesome. Thank you for this fantastic tutorial.
