So should cbse should just quit all subjects and start teaching java in fourth standard? Some subjects are learnt and taught for overall development of a human being and not for utility. Those premchand stories in my Hindi textbooks don't help me earn my bread but they have shaped me who I am as a human being. You can't look at everything in terms of utility. Or else your relationships and hence life would suck. Besides high-school physics understanding helps one in driving and cooking and countless other things. @suraj rawat and can you blame people for working for the IIT tag? IIT TAG WORKS Should it be that way? No But people don't have critical thinking abilities and they need to make fast judgements and hence they take your college's name into their judgements about you. In office, you are treated with more respect and get promotions quickly if you have that IIT or Tier-1 college tag. I have dates with women who treated me with more respect because I am from a great college. They weren't shallow, cracking IIT says a lot of good things about a person and those women also needed to make quick judgements because they didn't have a lifetime to know me. Same is with the boss, who wants to know who to promote, IIT tag and confidence comes in handy besides average work performance. Should it be that way? It fucking shouldn't. I know very smart people who live in constant doubt about their intelligence because of their college degree. They still think that they are not smart as us or aren't capable of doing more things than us and it feels bad that it happens. No matter how motivating you are it doesn't matter and when it happens to our close ones, it feels even worse. But if I have a friend, would I want him to get that IIT Tag? Fucking yes. It's easier to change the education system in India after getting an IIT tag than without it. Statistically, no body changes education system but everyone needs a good and smooth life and IIT tag helps in a lot of ways
