When his daughter is telling him about the swag bag she got backstage, one of the things she mentions is temporary tattoos. I was waiting for the killer to be "Wait, what? Hey! lets put those on for fun!" so he could hide his tattoo. Nope. Not even registered by him at all.

I feel like if I was at a concert and then the whole venue was suddenly surrounded by FBI agents and SWAT guys in full tactical gear I would be a lot more anxious than any of the people in this movie seem to be. Right? Excellent way to trigger a panic and then a potential crowd crush situation, especially given they've blocked exits and are slowing people down getting in and out. Which actually WOULD have been a really clever distraction for this guy to use to get out, because a crush is so incredibly dangerous and can have huge death tolls. It would absolutely have to pull the all the focus of everyone in charge, and they'd be forced to let everyone out as quickly as possible to prevent deaths.

the film would be infinitely better if this were the case. You could easily mislead by claiming he took her phone at the beginning and he silently discovers she is the killer hence the events of the film. There were seeming hints to it too since he could have just gone under the stage without her if he cared about actually escaping.

Many of Shyamalan's movies are twist-end movies, but far from ALL. Nevertheless, movie nerds suffer from the fixation and delusion that there must be a twist in a Shyamalan flick, and they even _believe_ they see a twist although there is none. For example, there is no twist in The Happening or Lady in the Water, the explanations are delivered early in the movies.

If you mean those artistic film conventions, like in The Bourne Identity, where Bourne "disappears" on the pier after a vehicle passes by, or the characters in Person of Interest constantly disappearing and reappearing, then yeah, I like those standard artistic "teleportations" too. Especially when we're shown the door right next to him that Cooper is looking at, which he can go into to turn up the temperature, when we're shown the exit from the closet, and when we're shown the free right side of the limo after the crowd has retreated from it and rushed to take pictures of Lady Raven running out. Your idea of Cooper being supernatural is hinted at by the video of Spencer's kidnapping, the episode with the tasers, and the episode where the group leader watches how innocent Cooper and his daughter are, hugging and looking at Lady Raven. Just some profiling? Yeah no. There's thousand of men at this venue, trying to screen everyone this way is absurd and a waste of resources, because you can't arrest people just on a whim, and that ticket is only circumstantial evidence AT BEST. You need a ton of compounded evidence in order to officially put someone under arrest. Having this many officers on location would only create mass panic (seeing that, I would immediately think of some terrorist threat) and give a potential opportunity for a hostage situation to the killer. The dumbest thing is that the Feds came there because of a receipt. And the guy bought a fixed seat. They could have easily went to the ticket vendor and checked which seat he bought tickets to.

I cannot imagine every firefighter in a city would be informed of an FBI sting at a venue. I cannot imagine *a* firefighter that wasn't already on duty making sure a concert that size didn't turn into a pyre for a hundred thousand people would be told. That's by far the craziest idea in this video.

@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 it feels like too many people (aka too many writers) forget that firefighters don’t only respond to fire calls, but ems too. The most common thing I hear over my dad’s radio is “difficulty breathing.” He’s made soooo many medical calls. they absolutely would’ve notified the fire department ‘cause of possible medical emergencies caused by their sting operation.

All I knew about this movie was that it was a thriller called "Trap" and took place at a concert and I just kind of assumed the music at the concert would be trap music for the double meaning but I guess that's too clever?

13:38 and I’m the type of nerd that if it’s not a product placement then it’s some sort of “wink wink , nudge reference” When I looked into Escanso what comes up for me is a Spanish pharmacy page that has a pill called Escanso which is for schizophrenia and manic bipolar episodes 🤷‍♀️ And Descanso means rest or pause in Spanish

Nice catch! One of the small things I found funny was that one reviewer concluded during the screening that Cooper wasn't a serial killer because Apple doesn't allow bad characters to be shown in their movies. What he didn't realize was that it wasn't product placement, since Trap was entirely financed by Shyamalan (as he's been doing since The Visit) and Saleka.

Fortunately, a continuation of Cooper's story is planned for development. Shyamalan is writing a new script. It's even better that finally his films will not be watched by viewers who finally saw that they don't like his fairy tale style in a modern setting) Very indicative in this regard is the analysis of the comparison of the interest of the audience of "The Trap" in the USA and in Europe. Why watch films by a director you don't like and get upset after that?) Well, maybe for some hate reviews, funny things invented in them and memes, allowing to increase the channel's audience ;)

A small complaint about this movie but I have never seen cooking oil sold in glass jugs for foodservice. It would be a plastic 5 gallon jug in a box. Like they just made that up for the plot. A kitchen I worked at actually had a tragic fryer accident once when someone had knocked a can of spray oil into the fryer the night before and morning shift turned them on without realizing. Like, the movie was soooo close to getting this right but missed. I feel like it's a metaphor for the entire film.

I guess only people of a certain age realize this movie is a hoot😁 M Night himself said it was funny and playful take on the serial killer genre. What she is mocking and laughing about is what makes the movie so much fun!

My immediate thoughts: this is 3 movies in 1. Movie 1 was a critique on TS concerts. Movie 2 was a serious Scooby doo episode. You know, Hanna Barbera watched True Crime. Movie 3 was a Lifetime movie. The Pie that rocked the cradle! And I would rewatch. It was not crazy bad. Just M. Night good. 🐤☕️

Additional positive of this film: it reveals those who only watched the trailer (those who say like "the whole film is a concert"), those who do not give any arguments, but only insult (those who say like "Take your meds") and after Trap the audience that does not accept the style of a fairy tale in Shyamalan's modern setting will finally leave. The majority of viewers will be those who like the style of his films and haters for the sake of hate, plus reviewers who raise views and subscriptions on hate reviews, but there are not many of them)

Josh Hartnett being great is what really sells this movie. Is it dumb on multiple levels? Absolutely. Is it also just goofy fun? Absolutely. Personally, I had fun with it for the same reason I have fun with the Hitman games. They straddle the line between serious and goody fun in the most perfect way. I don't know if Shyamalan did this on purpose, but it works. This movie really did feel like a level of Hitman.

As the father of an almost teenage girl. The biggest lie in this movie is that little girls don’t want to go under stages; via lists, with their dads and look for “costumes.”
