Gorgeous performance! Love Shye's tone, it's like she has a depth to it that sounds round and full. I don't have the knowledge or correct words to describe what I hear when she sings, but it feels like I hear her in three dimensions or maybe even four lol. It always sounds so beautiful though. She's literally insane. Her control and stability is magnificent. She doesn't strain her voice or force notes that she can't hit. It's like she can't make mistakes. This teenager sings with a maturity that is beyond her age. Her voice and delivery is full of rich, multi-layed strength and subtlety. If she can compose and write her own music, she could have great individual success on her own. Her voice is unmistably hers and she justs sounds rounder, fuller and more authentic than the others, without straining and without the manifest desperation that bleeds into many contestants' performances. I wish she would be able to create her own "lane" and revel in it for our enjoyment for a long time.

Do you know her age? I tried googling her and got a bunch of transgender stuff which was about Skye from The Voice Australia I think. It specifically said Shye but showed a picture of Skye. All the info was about him and the bio I found which was about Shye didn't give age lol. They definitely need to straighten all that out because there was a lot about a sick mother and Long Island, but not much relevant to her singing, experience, age, if she writes. I'm in Austria, so I don't see the whole show only videos posted. Thanks for any info you can give me. Have a lovely day!

Her mother had health problems (scoliosis; worsened by a severe work injury), and surgeries, and Shye was raised by her older siblings---her eldest sister has been with her, the whole time, at the show, because she was underage. Her mother, though she still has a little bit of problems, is now better, out of the hospital, and home, with Shye. Shye is a songwriter, and likes to collect rocks, especially amethyst---she gave each coach a rock, after she sang, in the Blinds. She gave Reba a red cat's eye, and she gave Snoop, pyrite---I can't remember the other two!!

I totally agree about the "straining and manifest desperation" you mentioned. That describes it perfectly. Shye doesn't have to bust a vein trying to blow the roof off. She's been my favorite since the blinds.

I freaking love Shye! She is always my number 1 favorite no matter what she sings. Great song choice for her and this is her best performance of the season, and the best of the night. She always delivers her best throughout her whole run. What I love about her is the way she challenges herself in terms of picking song choices whether it's a good choice or a bad choice, it's the ability to make it your own. She does exactly that. She sings so powerfully without overdoing the notes. She is so flawless every time. She is just like We Ani in terms of genres, song choices, performances, uniqueness, making songs their own, and low notes. She will always be my number 1 favorite no matter what she sings. Chills!
