Kurzgesagt made an interesting video named "the workout paradox" it seems that the required calories for regular workouts don't differ that much from the once needed to stay bored in bed, what does not mean that staying in bed would be good

I've always known that being fit is about 80% diet, 20% exercise. It's just consuming less calories than you burn in a day and getting proper nutrition.

True on the excersise and muscle heavy thing. O took up biking again after 20year gap. Got ten kilos of muscle instead of weightloss :D Funny thing I look almost the same, just legs became thinnier and sturdier with muscle.

"Diet" is specifically what we eat. Technically we don't "go on a diet", but we colloquially use this phrase when we start paying attention to what we eat and try to make adjustments to our existing diets. You could go on a diet and eat more, or eat the same amount of calories but in different forms. Too many people think "diet" means starving yourself and it hurts my head to argue with them. Also, 70lbs?! Is this where the word "bird" comes from in England when talking about women? Are her bones hollow?

right? It bothers me so much, when i see people technically starving themself AND on top exercise like crazy, especially women and call it "im on a diet". Not only is this extremely bad for your overall body and mental health, its also extremly inefficant, since your body addepts to the low cal intake, and starts save energie, this can go to the point where your body breaks down muscles. Most people dont even wanna lose weight necessarily, but rather lose fat and this form of "diet" will achieve pretty much the opposite.

1:42 What she's saying about exercising being a good 10% at least of a successful weight loss regimen mirrors what my mom (former athletic trainer) and every nutritionist and dietitian I've ever talked to has told me. If you are restricting calorie input, but you're not giving that energy anywhere to go, you're still going to put on weight - just slower. Also, if you're not moving, you're going to lose muscle at the same time as you're putting on more fat, which is bad for all kinds of reasons besides just making you look skinny but out of shape at the same time.

Lily won’t get cancelled for saying exercise is only 10% … like, anyone who knows anything about weight loss says the exact same thing, even Mr Olympia himself Chris Bumstead says that when it comes to getting lean for bodybuilding competitions it’s all diet, the weightlifting is to build the muscles, but the leaning out is all diet.

On another note, a really good youtuber that I watch that talks about diet and exercise a good bit is Dr. Mike Israetel on Renaissance Periodization. He's got a PhD in sports physiology and is/was a bodybuilder. He's funny, too: you won't get bored learning about exercise and muscles.

Not that I know of. I know an English Pound (UK) differs from a 'regular' pound (= halve a kg in my country). But a.f.a.i.k., a kg is a kg in every country that uses kg/grams as weight measurement. And Lilly is German and currently lives in The Netherlands like me, where a kg is defintely just a kg. And I agree, 32 kg is indeed freaky/anorexic for a height of 1.48m; it scores 14.6 with the BMI formula, whereas 18.5-24.9 is the healthy range.

Diets are just simply ineffective. Just focus on having a healthy, balanced diet with exercise. You might not be skinny, but you'll be metabolically healthy.

Jayus... how the hell can you survive being 150cm and just 32kg? That's Anorexia territory, if not outright literal anorexia. Hell, 47kg at 150cm is probably in the grey zone to being a healthy weight - that's the "skinny" tag on a pr0n site (not a recommendation). Which can be healthy for some women, but at 150cm... most women would be healthier at 50-55kg. (5ft / 110lbs is a rough translation to Freedom Units, so it's still really thin, but not 5ft / 70lbs thin)
