I love this song. ^^ Ever since I was a small girl I've always listen to Irish and Celtic CDs, partly because I'm from a Fourth generation Irish family, the other part because my Grate uncle was a First generation immigrant and a performer at his family's bar. ^^ Long story short, I've herd many renditions of this song, and this is the first one where I've stopped everything I was doing and fully listen to it.

Wow! That brought me back to my folk singing days in the late 50s and early 60s (I'm 73 now and still like to sing that song which I think I heard on an old Peter, Paul and Mary album)! Your more authentic version is exquisite (as is your Parting Glass) and I am filled with hope that you will continue to perpetuate some of those older songs that are fading by the wayside with every passing year. Thank you for making my day!

I don't know what it is, but if I may say, there is something in the music, in the soul, in the blood that calls out to us. Perhaps I can give you a bit of a smile as I'm only 25 and folk songs are some of my favorites to follow. 'Traditional' bards have another way of reaching out thanks to platforms like this.
