SI Interference from trolling motor

I have the same issue. Clear side scan at 10 and any speed setting less than that causes an unreadable screen. Have had this issue for years.

It can, yes. Depends on the frequency and the severity.

The original job was so poorly performed that the proper repair ultimately ended up being a complete replacement of the lower unit and shaft assembly. That's why my grass ninja blade is missing in that photo. So the picture that you seek should be available on Google images, since it's just a factory unit, as manufactured by MK. What if I have interference and the fuse is good? That is my issue. I wish the fuse was blown then I would know the problem.

Do you only have interference when the motor is running, or do you have interference all the time?

Hey, sorry for the late reply... I really need to do a better job staying on top of this channel! My GUESS at the cause of that problem would be a bad ground, possibly in the motor case. Having opened these things up myself tinkering with them, they are NOT easy to get put back together again - not without messing something up. If it's a valuable trolling motor, I'd find a nearby Authorized Repair center and take it in. It has been my experience that often times, the repair cost is much less than initially anticipated.
