Fix the RF Interference on your Lowrance depth finder

Finally got the RF (radio frequency) interference on my Hook 2 7 depth finder fixed. Here are the 5 things I did....
1. Grounded the trolling motor housing to the ground wire inside the console to the Lowrance Hook 2 7 2. Uncoiled and separated the transducer cable away from the positive / negative wires inside the dash 3. Installed a rubber vacuum hose around the transducer cable at the motor 4. Plastic shield around the positive / negative wires both inside and out side of the dash 5. Ran a ground cable from the starter battery to the hull of my boat. One happy camper now that my Lowrance Hook 2 7works as it should. Hopes this helps and works for you. If you like this video please hit the like and subscribe button, thanks! I also found this to work. I tested it with corrugated tubing and found that I had to have to tubing slid all the way down to the transducer; if there was any gap between the bottom of the tubing and transducer. The interference was not eliminated.

Dealing with interference with a Garmin echo uhd and a maxxum 70 digital. I think it's down to 1 of 2 things, if transducer is within 3 inches of the lower unit I get noise.even with over 20 different sized Ferrite 31 mix cores on the transducer cable and some on the power to the trolling motor and some on the Garmin. I'm thinking it's in the control board of the pedal pulsing the voltage to the motor and the motor is acting like an antenna/ amp. The new trolling motor is in shop getting upgraded motor under factory warranty but my old one is back on boat. Both doing the same, so. If I can figure out what I need to do on the old one then I can repeat on the new one. At full speed there's no noise. That's why I'm coming to the conclusion of the control board

It is the transducer picking up the RF. Wire is shielded inside.

I was having a lot of interference on my simrad nsx every time I turned my Minnkota I pilot on and got even worse when I was spot locked. Noted. Transducer was stern mounted. A guy told me he did a software update on his garmin and it fixed it. I did a software update on my simrad and it fixed it. Hope this helps someone out there! Also I had a software update available on the trolling motor as well so I went ahead and did that as well.
