The cat is a warm blooded mammal with lighting quick reflexes. The snake, on the other hand is cold blooded, and quickly gets tired. The snake kept trying to get away and wanted no part of this fight. For the Siamese kitty, it was all fun and games.
@paulbrower32972 жыл бұрын
Cats are not venomous, but for a small critter like that viper a cat bite is just as deadly as a viper bite -- once the snake has lost its stamina and can no longer put up a fight. The snake makes the reckless attacks that never reach the cat. Eventually the snake is boxed to bare survival and along comes the bite that crushes the viper's windpipe, severs the spinal cord, or breaks either the jugular vein or carotid artery. ...and you thought the most amazing cat in Thailand as a predator would be a tiger!

Seems to me in most situations, cats and mongoose work at getting the snakes tired, and then they get the upper hand in the end.

People don't realize how fast and well-coordinated cats are until they see a video like this. The cat is literally playing with the snake like a toy. If the cat really wanted to kill it, the snake wouldn't stand a chance. Also, for what's usually seen as an indoor, pedigreed cat, Siamese can be extremely tough and adaptable. We had one who never left the apartment for the first six months of his life. Then we moved to a house in the woods and started letting him outside. He took to it like a duck to water. He'd stay out all day, running around in the bushes and trees, come back in for meals every few hours, go back out for more running around, and then come in for good at night. He eventually grew to 22 lbs of more or less pure muscle. His fur got thicker too, and he didn't seem to have any trouble with snow. Oddly, I never once found a flea or a tick on him. I've since wondered if that was something to do with his breeding (?). The cat we had before him in the same apartment would literally have fleas again a few hours after we flea-bombed the house and took him to the vet for a professional flea treatment. We'd rake and vacuum the whole carpet with flea powder, go through the dirt in the potted plants, take all the linen off the beds and sprinkle and vacuum them (probably unhealthy, I know), sprinkle and vacuum all the furniture, wash all the bedding and even replace the vacuum bag, and three hours after he came back from the vet he'd have fleas again. We did this twice, didn't work either time. Sadly, this cat got outside one day and was hit and killed in the road. We got the Siamese a few weeks later, did basically nothing for fleas, and he never had a single flea all the time we owned him.

My Siamese is half black 🐈⬛ so he has the mother's personality (Siamese) and father's outdoorsy nature. We let him out during the day and he comes back in at night as well. He's a good family cat and it's not quite flea season yet here so we will let him out until summer hits.
