We can barely even see the snake strikes but the cat paws away each one easily. The reflexes are incomprehensible!

By direct comparison, cats are quite a bit quicker than snakes. Their strikes were both measured in milliseconds.

Siamese cats are the quickest purebred cats I've ever had! My first Sealpoint lived 17 years and my second, a Lilac Point lived 18 years. Very special cat breeds!

People don't realize how fast and well-coordinated cats are until they see a video like this. The cat is literally playing with the snake like a toy. If the cat really wanted to kill it, the snake wouldn't stand a chance. Also, for what's usually seen as an indoor, pedigreed cat, Siamese can be extremely tough and adaptable. We had one who never left the apartment for the first six months of his life. Then we moved to a house in the woods and started letting him outside. He took to it like a duck to water. He'd stay out all day, running around in the bushes and trees, come back in for meals every few hours, go back out for more running around, and then come in for good at night. He eventually grew to 22 lbs of more or less pure muscle. His fur got thicker too, and he didn't seem to have any trouble with snow. Oddly, I never once found a flea or a tick on him. I've since wondered if that was something to do with his breeding (?). The cat we had before him in the same apartment would literally have fleas again a few hours after we flea-bombed the house and took him to the vet for a professional flea treatment. We'd rake and vacuum the whole carpet with flea powder, go through the dirt in the potted plants, take all the linen off the beds and sprinkle and vacuum them (probably unhealthy, I know), sprinkle and vacuum all the furniture, wash all the bedding and even replace the vacuum bag, and three hours after he came back from the vet he'd have fleas again. We did this twice, didn't work either time. Sadly, this cat got outside one day and was hit and killed in the road. We got the Siamese a few weeks later, did basically nothing for fleas, and he never had a single flea all the time we owned him.

-Thanks for sharing that story. Now you're Siamese cat has plenty room to have fun. We love cats and we have one 6 year old regular putty tat. We never had a Siamese cat but would like to get one. But not sure if it would get along our regular cat. Guess i will ask the vet the next time we bring our cat in for a check-up.

My Siamese is half black 🐈‍⬛ so he has the mother's personality (Siamese) and father's outdoorsy nature. We let him out during the day and he comes back in at night as well. He's a good family cat and it's not quite flea season yet here so we will let him out until summer hits.

When I was a kid we had a Siamese cat. They are small and fierce. They can bite like a dog, and shred most anything alive with their claws and teeth. No problem to go after rodents even equal to their size. You do not want to mess with this type of cat. Very tough and stubborn. Makes a great family pet!

The cat is a warm blooded mammal with lighting quick reflexes. The snake, on the other hand is cold blooded, and quickly gets tired. The snake kept trying to get away and wanted no part of this fight. For the Siamese kitty, it was all fun and games.

Cats are not venomous, but for a small critter like that viper a cat bite is just as deadly as a viper bite -- once the snake has lost its stamina and can no longer put up a fight. The snake makes the reckless attacks that never reach the cat. Eventually the snake is boxed to bare survival and along comes the bite that crushes the viper's windpipe, severs the spinal cord, or breaks either the jugular vein or carotid artery. ...and you thought the most amazing cat in Thailand as a predator would be a tiger!

@@TheBandit7613 honey badger vs big boa constrictor vid. the snake has to win in the first few minutes or he's a gonner. and honey badger is always hungry. once the big snake gets tired he even bites himself. that's how clumsy they get. when they're tired.. but this cat was just out for fun. too fat to fly and can't dance. might as well play with snakes.

My first wife and I were renting a house with her mother and sisters and we had four indoor cats including a petite and friendly seal point Siamese that we would let go out in the screened porch in nice weather and one day I caught a good sized garter snake and knowing it was harmless I decided to see what the cats reaction would be. When our Siamese approached the snake it snapped at her causing her to literally tear it to shreds and begin to eat it. We couldn't believe that our sweet Xanadu was capable of such a thing but instincts are often a powerful motivator.

I'm kind of like a buhdist too & try not to kill anything. We live in the woods. The cats are wild, yet friendly with us. That copper head last year came after me twice while on my knees pulling weeds in our gardens, without provocation, later that eve i was listening to music on youtube having a beer about 9:00 pm when my favorite stray came off the chair next to me to attack that full grown viper inches from crawling up my leg. Scared the shit out of me lmao. Ya got a live thru that & survive to know how that feels. People loose limbs & shit getting bit by these " "poor monsters" ain't taken no chances of them flourishing multiplying & maybe killing my wife! The cats got 28 of them last year!!! I prefer the cats. Thier no trouble to us. Sorry that troubles you. Don't know what to say. I have friends that have pet snakes, spiders, scorpions venomous frogs lol. I get it, to ea thier own. That was not a rattlesnake. You would have definitely heard the rattle if it were ( sounds similar to a cicada). The snakes head would also be totally different in shape (very triangular). I am uncertain of the snake in the video, but it is definitely not any form of pit viper. I am also fairly certain it's not poisonous. If it were, I suspect the cat would have shown severe effects of envenomation before the end of the video. This snake is probably some form of a constrictor.
