#5 Is really important because with a husky's pack mentality, when an elder dog leaves the pack, it usually means they're seeking out a final resting place. Every time they're super excited to see you come back home is because to them, you're coming back from the dead.

I would add that they have a high prey drive and tend to see things smaller than them as lunch.

I've had three over the past twenty seven years. All had vastly different personalities, but none of them were ever destructive, and two were abused, abandoned rescues. I can't imagine my life without a Husky in it. 🐺😘

More people should watch this. Personally know too many idiots that got huskies for being cute and to post on social media then send them off too the shelter once they tear up the carpet or something like this 6 months later

Sometimes I doubt I really have a husky. I'm kind of an active person and it was the reason to bring a husky home. But mine is the laziest boy I've ever seen. He hates to pull anything or to walk upwards. He is nearly two years and healthy but he loves to stay home and chill. Maybe my animal shelter gave me an oversized cat🤔

My experience with a Siberian tells me that if you don't have at least 3 hours a day to run and walk them, then you will never get a good dog. That said, when their exercise requirements are met, the Siberian is an awesome companion who will eventually understand human language in complete sentences. Lastly, given the requisite amount of exercise, they become way less stubborn and you can train them to do pretty much anything. Exercise and consistency are the keys.

I have an Utonagan, a mix breed husky. My big puppy has never ending energy. He shows a lot of affection and always always seeks me. If I use the restroom he waits outside. It’s like we are tied by the hip. Husky’s are vocal. They can talk woah woah they can talk forever. I love my fur son and he is worth all the shedding in the world.

Huskies energy is no joke. I’ve got two and the only time I’ve ever tired them out we ran them for 30 km. They have more stamina than me always. If you have access to ATVs & snowmobile‘s. it’s a lot easier to get them that mileage.

I have a husky pup, five months old. If you work 2 jobs, this dog is probably not the best pick for you, not only because you have less time to give to your husky, but you will be extremely tired and stressed, especially in the beginning, when you're waking up several times a night. Also, if you can't handle constant loud barking and/or don't have the patience to train them not to bark so much, I don't recommend getting a husky, because they do bark/howl/talk a lot. Mine likes to bark when he wants/needs something. And they can be very hard to crate train, because they cry a lot, sometimes with or without positive association. In short, they are stubborn dogs, lol. However, they are very lovely dogs with great social skills, they love people, and they love other dogs too, as long as you socialize them with other dogs often as a young pup. They're very sweet, and of course, absolutely gorgeous. Having a husky has been a challenge, but I love my fur baby more than I could have ever imagined.

Oh, and I also recommend having a decent size place with a decent size yard BEFORE you get your husky. They really need room to run.

When you say "if you don't have the time", what kind of time are you talking about? So many people say they need proper amount, but nobody actually specifies what theY ACTUALLY need. Is it 2h, 6h? I would really appreciate more specifically as most of us have 8hour work-days, is that then not something that could work, meaning during the workhours they are still exercised through doggy daycare or work from home so exercise can still be met (meaning I understand no dog should be left for an 8h work-day) but yeah, I'd really appreciate more specific time required so I can schedule the required amount of exercise needed throughout the day to know if it works or not with my life/work :) Also thanks so much for making great videos! :)

You need a sense of humor and a lot of patience with huskies for sure. If you get easily irritated or are a control freak... huskies aren't for you.

Yes the Husky is a pain-in-the-@$$ but I wouldn't have it any other way. They are sweet-natured (i.e., not a guard dog). Those little beasties will show the burglar where the bet stuff is. Sure, the hair is paramount, so if you're allergic this isn't the best breed for you. They like to pull and dig...get used to it. If you don't like dogs in your bed, think twice before bringing a husky home. They will snuggle up next to you (not for attention) when you go to sleepytown solely for the purpose of keeping warm on a cold winter night. A retriever/rotweiller/gsd won't do that.

Be prepared for lots of complaints. My Gorgeous female files daily complaints against me for "withholding" treats or not getting meals out on time. Also be prepared for some serious "stink eye" when you do something stupid.

How will a husky react to an invisible fence ? I have one installed and have used it with past dogs from when they were a puppy training then how to use that...is this something that would work well for them ?

You left one out a husky can be aggressive to smaller animals if you have any and are very territorial due to birds, cats, squirrels I don’t recommend you get a husky for a starter I’ve gone through all my shoes because of my husky because of as he said boredom and not enough exercise therefore it would be my fault they can be a good dog as a matter fact an amazing breed if you work with them
