Our dog Phoenix has been living with idiopathic epilepsy since she was 2 years old. We manage it with daily medication and a strict diet. She can do everything a non-epi dog can and will sass you while doing it! Epileptic dogs can live awesome and normal lives and Phoenix is proof! She is also a bionic dog, having had a metal plate surgically installed to stabilize her knee after she tore her ACL. She is my actual hero.

She was found crossing an intersection in Long Beach, California. She is just so grateful to be here and gives the best (and the most) kisses.
Our dog Falcon was a rescue from Husky House:

She was on the kill list at a shelter in New York City after she was labeled un-adoptable. Husky House pulled her from the list and thank goodness they did because she became the most helpful member of the family. She is now running free beyond the Rainbow Bridge, diving into mountains of hedgehog toys until we join her. See you there, goodest girl.

About the hair everywhere thing, some family friends of ours had a husky, a german shepherd and their 3 children all living in the house together and there really was fur everywhere. Like there was only about 30 seconds of time after opening something before it had dog hair in it.

Like you, we groom ours daily - even if it’s just for a couple of minutes. We also take them to a groomer when they are blowing their coats for a wash and undercoat de-shedding blow out. That helps them feel more comfortable and gets the blow over and done with quicker. We also embrace the fact that we will never be husky fur free, and that no matter how frequently we sweep, vacuum, or mop, there will always be at least some husky hair tumbleweeds somewhere in the house. At this point, they are a lifestyle accessory.

You know, I thought the same thing when I was getting my pup. “I can handle some husky fur” I told myself. “It can’t be that difficult, I’ll just buy a better vacuum and brush them once or twice a week!” I thought. He’s nine months old now and we just finished up a 2 hour session with the blower. 🙂😭 And there are still lil static strays all over him lol I don’t regret my decision to get him at all, but WOW this fur war I’ve been in for the last 4 months is getting serious 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We have a beagle that has been with us for 9 years and we adopted a beautiful husky from the pound the other day. Not sure why anyone would leave their dog in the pound but their loss and he now has a loving home. I’m new to having huskies, had German Shepard’s but now I understand when people say they are fur balls. I thought my beagle left hair everywhere. Love the dog so far and he’s very gentle for being from the pound. Watching all sorts of videos to get tips. He does seem to like the vacuum we have though. Gonna use my air compressor on him when it isn’t as cold outside.

I kinda just went for it but I made sure to do Phoenix first because she trusts me more. Gryphon was outside while watching before it was her turn. In the beginning they were reluctant but now it's very relaxing and I even got a double yawn from Gryphon! That thumbnail pic of her is mid-yawn 🙂

You need at least a surgical mask to protect your nose and mouth, and perhaps goggles for your eyes, while using blower. If you do not breathe fur, there is dander which is hardly noticeable but is like specks of tiny white dust. Take your phone out and put it nearby even while brushing a dog at home. It will have a film of dander on top of it if he is not washed first.
