Ren's on a completely different level to Ed Sheeran!. Ed may be more successful and on a big label but he could only wish that he has a quarter of the talent that Ren has! Ren's a truly unique artist. A musical genius! A once in a generation talent! :)

I mean, Ed's a talented guy. And he can rap, apparently. But he's just a bit vanilla. Record label has to sell records kind of vanilla. That's fine for the kids. But the grown ups need music too! Enter Ren.

You don’t need to use any filters for Rens content as he allows people to use his art freely, This is a masterpiece that everyone should see, pure art, all done with just a guitar, Ren can creates such vivid scenes in your head with just a few words and tone of voice, I’ve done a breakdown of the main characters in these tales with my theories of how they all fit together on my YT.

Apparently the content still gets copyright and fair use claims, REN and his distributor are now commenting on reactors videos saying that he has no issues with reactors using his music, yet KZbin and others are still trying to strike them for doing so, and has advised if the reactors gets a strike to mention that REN and his team approve them to react to it

@@DJQUAZER I have a Ren reaction dropping tomorrow, it says copyright but I looked deeper and it says “copyright protected content found. the artist allows this content to be used on KZbin “ so I wouldn’t worry it’s not a copyright strike

Ren is a modern troubadour and a true Renaissance man. Great reaction so far. It's a long one and I've yet to finish watching. I can't really choose between this and "Hi Ren", and in fact he's got so many songs that hit in so many ways, but having said that, "Hi Ren" will always hold a special place as it was my introduction to Ren.

It’s widely suspected that Jenny was probably a prostitute…what 14 year old is walking the streets late at night, alone, in heels. Streets she’s walked a thousand times before. I think one of the really interesting details is in Violet’s take at the beginning, before he starts walking…he has to gather himself to tell this difficult tale. Ren said that performing this takes a mental toll on him. Done the wrong way, Violet’s take could be off putting or even exploitative…but he handles it with such care. Can’t wait for you guys to discover all of his sides…I think he’s a once-in-a-lifetime artist and it’s been fun watching other people discover him.

About a thousand people turned up for an amazing show he performed extra content including a poem and a short song about Richard the police officer. This series is too good. There's a ton to unpack. The way he caps Screech's tale at the start and end. "This story it starts right at the end" and "This story it ends right at the start". The unspoken character painting with words in Jenny's Tale. High heeled ahoes, 14 y/o. Implying her working as street girl running away from a foster home as you find out at the end. The amazing parallel between the narrative in Violet's Tale and the accoustics. Violet's Tale goes from closed in to escapaing to closed in to escaping etc ertc and the camera and spatial acoustics follow the journey. Just a few of the many little gems tucked away in this epic. I couldnt tell you how many views this needs to experience fully because everytime I listen I find more nuggets of gold. Def recommend relistening more than once. Cheers.

Yes, when Ren is storytelling like this it's gained the name 'Bardcore,' and one reactor actually mentioned the show 'The Witcher' and the character of 'Jasker.' A Medieval Troubadour or Bard. The Tales are based upon a police blotter article in a paper Ren read, it was the story of a young prostitute killed by another youth during a mugging, then a responding officer killing the youth. In the article the commanding officer was quoted saying 'they were so young, it's such a shame.' 'It's such a shame' is a phrase Ren uses throughout The Tales. They were made a year apart, originally just Jenny & Screech, telling the story in the paper, but Violet's Tale was created to bring them back together as a story of multigenerational trauma, abuse, and neglect. Some seem to miss that Violet's father 'tuck her tight, but never left the room. I'll spare you with the things he did, I'm sure her mother knew.' She got out at 16, and to get a council flat under a welfare scheme she was likely pregnant, by her father. Stevie calls her a 'little liar' and a 'fucking slut,' this could be because he figured out that she was pregnant before they got together. Levels. 'Hi Ren' was the gateway acid trip for most who found him, and then explored the pharmacopeia of his back catalog as well as the strains of his new releases. 'Hi Ren' I'd put in his personal journey - illness path, while 'The Tales' are more of his social justice sort of work. Here is what I can think of for recommendations: Ren Gill Music journey - his illness path: Crutch Diazepam Chalk Outlines How to Be Me Sick Boi Cross between his path and his childhood best friend: Freckled Angels Suic*de For Joe Social Justice songs: Dominos Money Game Part 1 Money Game Part 2 Money Game Part 3 Eden

Yea you guys are pretty spot on in you understanding of the songs. Jenny and Screech are twins but due to Violet being murdered, it seems that their dad would’ve been thrown in prison and they were set into a foster care like system and were separated very early on. Despite not knowing their parents or each other, they are direct reflections of their biological parents. Stevie, was abusive and violent, and Screech is also very violent. While, Violet is timid and quiet, so is Jenny because she froze and didn’t speak to Screech when he approached her. The song was inspired by a story Ren saw in the news of a 14 year old being arrested for murdering a prostitute. Despite the origin of the song and the songs themselves being very depressing Ren’s intentions behind the song are to bring awareness to senseless violence but also a reminder that history repeats itself and in many ways it’s ingrained in us and passed down through generations unless someone stands up to break the chains of bondage

Thanks for reacting to this. For me, the reason this story is important is that it shows Ren's empathy to the human condition which he has developed from his hardship. It shows Ren's genius as a story teller and shows his compassion (he composed a musical tragic story to honor the memory of people whose lives are tragically ended). I believe he points out in his "Eden" video how our current system is lacking and that mankind should exercise their gift of Free Will and turn this hell on earth into a better place.

7:50 Yeah... it happens in all of the world but it differs how much we hear about it. I was stabbed when I was 18 yrs old about 25 yrs ago when I got jumped by 5 random guys I never saw before... Police never arrived on scene. Neither did the ambulance. I had to call a friend to pick me up and drive me to the emergency hospital. In the local newspaper it was mentioned in a small paragraph somewhere in the middle pages. Police never found any suspects. last month a 20 yr old guy was stabbed a very short distance from where I was. It made headlines in national news. Breaking news reports live on scene. Local politicians making statements about preventing crime and allocating funds to police. Racists claiming immigrants are taking over the country... To me nothing has really changed... with online media we now hear about every fart in the middle east... back in the day we could throw handgranades in the backyard and our parents never found out... but ppl have always been throwing granades and farting... lol

I doubt this is where Ren was going but the more I watch this the more I wonder about Richard. There's a scenario where the act of shooting Screech (a 14 year old boy) could mess with you so badly you turn to drink... and an outcome of that can increase violence in the home. Could Richard or perhaps his children, become the start of another cycle of violence, just at the inception of the instigating trauma? Reaching I know but it fits the theme of the trilogy.

A different take on Screech could be that he did something that was irreparable and was in shock and frightened (apart from all of the other things he would probably feel in the situation of having killed someone). The endplay, I interpret as using the police to commit suicide.

I think the word you are looking for is Bard. And remember Screech was 14 and had a girlfriend. But so was Jenny.

You never have to pause A Ren video if you dont want to or just cant, If you are flagged for copyright contest it and ren will handle it, guaranteed. Ren, loves his reaction channels. if you're getting absorbed into the video watch it, react a little later. just for future reference so far your reaction is awesome. Edit I posted this near the middle of Jenny's tell. Your reaction is solid, I'm subscribing.

Subscribed. Love you guys.. you are great humans Thankyou for your reactions. If you do more Ren try “murderer” either the regular version or the live acoustic version are both great and very different. Cheers

Thank you for this reaction, sadly I was unable to hear what the both of you were saying, your mic volume was too low. Captions helped a little bit. The video audio was perfect though.

Listen to anything from Ren and I'll listen along with you. And share more about your musicianship. As a fellow musician, I will listen. I love how authentic you both are.

There is a piece of information that you don't get in these songs that really puts Screech's fate in perspective. The reason Patrick wasn't home is because he was with Screech's girlfriend, that is why she was busy

Ren....... Dominoes.... it's one of his earlier songs, but a lot livelier than Hi Ren and the Tales... it still has a very important message

Crucify your culture by Ren is decent it’s a short song and political but it’s facts and I love that he tackles topics others not only wouldn’t but couldn’t.

Do you think Jenny felt "something in the air" because she was in close proximity to her twin brother? They say twins can feel stuff.

I think the fact that “Screech” is just 14 and “grew up on the streets”, shows that he’s also grown up with love and guidance, and and I think his death, is just as sad as Jenny and Violet’s 😢
