Today, is Sunday, May 12, 2024 here in the US it is mother's day. I drove my mom yesterday to a beautiful Italian-American bakery called Gencarelli's it is in the lovely town of Bloomfield, New Jersey. We thought of you guys right away how you would love this place. Impeccably clean, fully stocked shelves with breads, donuts, pies, taralli, they even made the Jewish Hamantaschen. We picked up a cake - Italian rum cake which is the rum at the bottom of the cake, the chocolate ganache, vanilla custard, whip cream and then toasted almonds wraps the cake around. I asked the ladies if they can fill the top with beautiful spring flowers made in colors from the same whip cream and they did. Then I drove mom to a big supermarket chain called ShopRite they are all over in New Jersey, New York state, Pennsylvania. We also bought two big bran muffins to die for with no raisins because if not it is too sweet. All The best.

My only problem with the arrancini is the peas. Never liked them but my mother apparently did. Bite into a rice ball and surprise! The taste of peas.

Brioschi is sold in all supermarkets. The pharmacy have several others too!

Depends how it is prepared. Catania has a specific section if town that has 4 superior restaurants.
