Day three of Sick Week 2024 Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive saw Jeff Lutz the quickest once again, but Brett LaSala still has the overall lead. Can the Street Outlaws champ regain the lead or will the issues with his engine prove too much?

We blew a head gasket on our Limited Modified Dirt Track car during our heat race several years ago, at a track over a hundred and fifty miles from home. Our setup was great and we wanted to race the next day. I suggested we go back to our hotel parking lot and replace it there. Everybody was glad that I had insisted that the tools on the race car trailer NOT be used in the shop. One guy headed to a parts store for gaskets and other supplies. Just before we started pulling the intake manifold, a fellow driver told us to come to his shop about 10 miles away and work on the car there. Talk about being happy for great people like that. We were even able to get showers, sleep, eat and get back to the track the following day. We didn’t win, finished third if I remember correctly, but like Lutz, real racers do whatever it takes!

Lutz is the man, met him at SEMA last year and he was such a cool dude. It’s awesome that he still uses an OG big block Chevy in his cars and not a hemi or ls based engine like everyone else.

Running a 6.29 on a stock block 302 sleeved coyote with stock gt350 heads stock crank all stock timing chains, guides ect. Thats amazing

Is it me, but it looks like Tom's car's suspension looks like it's doing nothing on the hit ? They keep messing with the tune. Maybe it's just suspension issues. Idk.

To be fair it’s really hard to see what his suspension is or isn’t doing with that bumper. It does seem like it’s no releasing fully, but it’s hard to tell on video. Would be nice to see a go pro underneath it

That Durango needs either a lot more anti-squat via bar angle, or way higher rear ride height and front up-travel with softer damping.

Tom has built a really impressive situation with Sick the Mag, Sick Week and Summer etc. No idea what he did before he started winning Drag n Drive events, but he certainly does a good job of promoting himself and especially the sport...

Likely not, but for the cost of a junkyard coyote you can buy a dart block LS. I think the record currently is like 7.16 but that's on stock shortblock. There's stock blocks running 4.2's in the 1/8th though,

Just don't think the Mickeys are were its at yet. Seen in another video of a racer switching back to Hoosiers and solved 90% of the problems he was having on the hit and down track. Respect to all those competing and grinding it out.

When i moved to Florida in 83 I raced at the Gainesville raceway , I won " king of the track" and " king of the hill" titles in the early 2000's . Its a awesome track ,I enjoyed this video. Brings back memories

crazy story for y'all about him, this story seems very unbelievable but it has been on my mind for years now. my mom was married to a guy who i saw as a stepdad for years and he told me a story about how his biological dad wanted nothing to do with him because his mom and him were very young and he basically disowned my stepdad, his biological father supposedly being jeff lutz, my stepdad told me this story alot and how jeff never once reached out and helped him knowing that that was his first son, sad story but its a truth that no one knows except me 🤷🏻‍♀️

@sickthemag you said the front shocks are full loose. Is the jounce (compression) set to not allow the front to come down too quickly, keeping weight transfer toward the rear? Are the rear shocks rebound setting set to rebound slowly?

Disappointed with the diameter problem on the MT tires. Never even crossed my mind considering MTs reputation. It's comparable to getting a bad cam from Isky. Almost unheard of.
