Pirates is very awesome. It is my default time killer. At this point, I'm just competing with myself to see how fast I can accomplish various things. Hope there's a sequel someday.

@@gracehopkins3113 yeah to me, it is better, because of the empty ocean (due to graphical limitations at the time) make the game feel really lonely, interspersed with moments of sheer panic, which I think s closer to a 17th century pirate's day to day life.

@@mattparker9726 I think the thing that made the old dos game hard was when you attacked a city and you had to fight the guards before getting to the fort. I don't think i totally understood that part of the game. I mainly played sid meiers pirates on the NES!! :)

@@agentskazzers3482 yeah that's true, I found out that if you have at least 2x the troops of a city or fort, you can auto complete the land invasion part.

yeah, it's VERY difficult to mod this game, all the combat animations are effectively cutscenes, just done in a clever way. I'm really impressed with this mod also.

I find it interesting that this is main land Europe itself and there are still villages and canoes of Taino people here sailing around and making war. They are here to show the colonists that mainland Europe itself is vulnerable to Taino colonization. They are eating 500 cloves of garlic a day working in shifts of 3. 1 month 1 fleet of war canoes attacks and sets up a village then at the end of the month they take a rest to recover from European diseases. Next month fleet 2 attacks and sets up villages and then they rest to recover from European diseases. Month 3 fleet 3 attacks and sets up villages then they rest to recover from European diseases. Fleet 1 having recovered from European diseases then take 1 week to spend time at home passing it down and planting more cloves of garlic and then go on the attack again. Rinse and repeat into shift 3 again.

there are probably many, but these two are made by themodelcitizen, who posted below you, and they are the highest quality TCs I've come across for this game, it is apparently difficult to mod the game. All the mods can be found on this site. www.hookedonpirates.com/forums/portal.php

The "perfidious English" bit (should be British) and Jean Lafitte don't look right, are you using the custom exe and all the downloaded assets?

@@mattparker9726 sounds good. Sorry it should be easier to switch mods, that's why I tried to have everything in assets. The 'perfidious english' thing sounds like you're using the old exe
