It was low at one time with the limited lates and also the late models at stafford but no problems for a while now . Waterford has to do something with car counts especially o n Saturdays 🏁🏁

Bring super x to saturday at least they get a full car count but bring down the street stock rules so a super x car can become a street stock with some added parts and a 602 crate. Then you have basically a stafford street stock and maybe you get some friday night guys on saturday. The top 5 at speedbowl in streeters are running limited late models which im fine with but thats why we dont get the cars.

I have 2 opinions. 1. Racers are gonna race… If you cut down on divisions yes it is gonna piss some people off but the majority will change directions and run another division 2. The schedule is to long in my opinion and that doesn’t help car counts The cost of everything these days makes it difficult to commit to running 22 straight weeks and that’s before you throw in any family aspect. Look back even last year in every division and see how many cars did every show compared to how many cars showed up throughout the year.

A question as a fan to a driver and owner like diego is should all three ct tracks for example the mrs and open mods, have the same exact rules regardless of size with the exception being the rear end gear? And does stafford/thompson/waterford actually do that? Because it seems like social media states everyone wants the same stuff for everything and you’d think a track would be happy having an all driver/owners meeting to come up with a rules package and not worry about for years. And I believe all rules should come out before thanksgiving. Thoughts?

sounds great but tracks will never get together on the rules across the board. Thompson and Waterford are the closest, then Thompson went to 604 mods so they're a little farther apart now. It would be nice, I just don't think the individual tracks have any interest in it.

I'd vote to rotate divisions with more nights off during the season then shut the track down completely every other week

The first thing that need to be addressed is why didn’t car counts fall?? That’s the root cause of any track. What made the cars go away to start with.

Why can't we add more cars this year especially when Seekonk have a day off, also get the drivers who race Stafford Fri night to race Waterford Saturday. I pay $40 for the pit entrance to see my favorite drivers and the racing low car count is not okay

You cannot keep comparing Waterford with Stafford. Two completely different demographics, which makes a huge difference... And it's not the 90's anymore, car counts will never again be what they were.. If you dumped the late models, most of those drivers would just stop racing. Sk lites costs a Lot more to run, than act style latemodels due to tire costs, versus purse payout. One of the easiest ways to reduce race team's costs is to STOP using Only H.T.E. as the sole tire supplier, and allow other much cheaper tires like American Racer, Cobra, ect.. The old fashioned way of using only certain suppliers for fuel, tires, ect, drives costs up.. As for Wednesday nights? You should really attend one... The stands are PACKED, every week more fans than sat nights, because ticket prices are cheaper. and full fields for X-cars, and super-x cars, more than sat night divisions. AND great racing!

disagree Waterford and Stafford are different demographics. With the exception of maybe Seekonk, the southern New England short track scene is pretty much the same demo. The agreements b/w the tracks the the suppliers (tires, fuel) is essential to the track operations these days the way I understand it. It may seem like it was better when there was more variety for competitors, but that's just not how the sport works now and it's not changing anytime soon. I'll give ya the Wed crowd may be bigger on Sat many weeks, but they're not PACKED. The only night the Speedbowl is truly packed these days is when the Monaco Modifieds run there.
