@TedMan83 Damm cruel to us all. As we are to each other. No one gets it easy. Life is hard for everyone. Sids life was an uphill struggle. And when he became famous the people who should have been looking out for him. They were just manipulating him. And doing him harm. He couldn't see it. And paid the ultimate price. When they couldn't make any more money out of him, they just discredited him and his abilities. Especially that Malcolm Mclaren, what a piece of shit he was.

His description of heroin withdrawal is spot on. I didn’t start until I was about 26/27, but, but next I knew it was 5 years later, and I just couldn’t believe it! Along with family, and legalized TCH a certain amount of wisdom I’m waking a better path . Sid had more than enough talent to be a performer, his bass playing was actually serviceable until he started to play like shit on purpose as the demon of his legend was beginning to fool him into believing the cartoon version of the situation. However he can be heard in the “Live in Sweden 1977” bootlegs, AND, he was 80% spot on with the chord structure at the Winterland in S.F. During the last gig Sid would ever But the cat was an excellent front man, he could sing, and hell yeah, he had the look, the hair, the charisma, (which when put next to Rotten, it was the first of the nails to start the end.) and it’s not because Rotten was better or Vicious was better, but they had a different approach, and even on bass, the stage was not big enough for Sid and John. Had he managed to stay clear of the dope, and started his own band from scratch, some how, he could have been as big as Billy Idol. Hands down. I apologize, the muse was upon me…..

@@seanfoster6320 Not at all. In fact, he was developing the skills on how to break songs down into “intro/verse/bridge/verse/bridge/chorus/solo” etc, and I think the 1980’s would have been a lot cooler with that competition between a Billy Idol led outfit, and a Sid Vicious led outfit, the next youth movements’ version of the Beatles & The Stones. Perhaps I think too much about this, but just using a little imagination, Idol, and Sid and the Vicious White Kids with Matlock on bass, and Brian James on Guitar, then, a line for drum tryouts would have been from Pimlico to Kings Cross/St. Pancras! He once hit a member of the audience with hiss bass guitar. In my late teens I was homeless in London and I sometimes punched people for “looking at me in a funny way” and I spent some time in prison for this. Syd was a very disturbing roll model. depends on if he wouldve stayed an addict then probably bash him otherwise if he sobered up finally was able to kick the addictions he may agree with a lot of it or put in his own perpectives on things from his side of things who knows maybe he wouldve kicked it and changed for the better found a nice woman with a good heart pure intentions and had a family somewhere but unfortunately those werent the cards he was dealt

Someone goofed up. This was 1977 not 1978. The summer when Sid was in hospital with yellow jaundice while Steve and Paul were in the studio making NMTB. Sid looks a little rough. He sounds very intelligent and had a good sense of humor. I had never seen the footage of him in his tits T shirt walking down Kings Road (1975?) or talking about the first Screen On The Green gig. Thanks for posting.

Funny hearing Sid's reaction to seeing the Pistols "they were so good, how can you equal that (why even be in a band)"...the very opposite to the spirit of punk, where you'd see a band and think ":fck me, I could do that...(and form a band)"
