I concur with Richard Sinclair, this detailed comparison has helped me also to establish that the second hand Turtle 775 I’ve just bought here in Beijing is genuine and that I do not need to spend further time searching videos and articles online to determine whether or not my watch is authentic - so time consuming hehe. I own several SKX and SRPD models. In a nutshell, the SKX is still better than the new SRPD but that is a discussion for another video. I picked up a new Sharkdive SKX copy and I have to say, Im impressed. The movement is an NH35, the bezel is ceramic, the crystal is sapphire and the end and band links are solid. Hey, for 80 bucks, you cant ask for more.

Heimdallr offers best SKX-like watches for now. Best tribute to old good SKX 007imho. Dunno about diving, but swimming are OK. (Got two, Green and Black)

imn glad they are doing the nh36 / 4r36 difference. I too have bveen unlucky with an ebay buy and it said nh36. It was a job lot of 2 seikos, and one of them seemed genuine, the other was fake. I used the fake for a mod.

you are right its very hard to spot the the fake if you dont have an original. also I noticed you moved it around a lot and didnt move a click its not an automatic or what?

The triangle, where you mentioned the recessed pip, on the original, the point wraps to the side of the bezel. Where as of the fake, the triangle ends at a point at the top of the bezel.

Got hustled and bought a fake from Ebay. The watch doesn't hold power on my watch winder. Otherwise it runs ok, albeit about +/- 1 minute per day. The date wheel doesn't alight. I guess I'll just wear it until it breaks and get a genuine one.

I would suggest you buy the original if you like to dive in the ocean. If you use a watch is a diving tool I would get the best I can afford. The replica I have not tested so I cannot say.But often replicas have a very low Reading for water resistant.

The PS or PROSPEX logo must be located right under the ripples of the tsunami logo...your Feiko certainly does not have the right alignment I've noticed...the minute indices also are not as transparent than those of the genuine one...you should have shown them closer to the camera so we can spot the differences more clearly...anyway, thanks for the video...

The fake in this case is as obvious as can be. The genuine Turtle has a recessed lume pip. None of the fakes do. It takes about three seconds to see which of the watches is fake here.

Very good and Thank you for pointing that out. In today’s watch world ,with modifying watches is custom , You certainly can identify a non-genuine bezel insert that way, and that might be enough To distance yourself from a deal. But on the rest of the watch are a few more points.

@@andreasmario805 Very true. I personally recommend staying away from modded watches for the simple reason that you just have no way of knowing what has been done (or misdone) to the watch. You know, at a minimum, that the caseback has been opened and the movement removed. Was the person that did the mod scrupulously careful in making sure no dust entered? Did he/she possibly damage the movement during the modifications? There's just no way of knowing, and unless the watch is silly cheap, I would never recommend buying a watch that wasn't original.
