First comparison of the 42Ls I’ve seen. Agreed that weight distribution is not great, but the organization is 10/10 for me. I can’t pack an osprey the same way I can pack this bag. I was on the fence, but this has convinced me to keep and continue loving the first gen bag! Very detailed comparison thank you!

Love the content and comparison. I bought my wife a new 35L. It's superior to the old 42L bc the 2/3 compartment on the left interior communicates under the 1/3 compartment, essentially giving you a full access compartment. Is this design on the new 42L remain unchanged? IOW, does the 2/3 compartment have a full "wall" at the top preventing goods to be stored under the 1/3? Huge fail if so. Sending the old 42 back for this reason. Want the new 42 but not if it doesn't give full access on that left compartment like the 35 allows. Thanks again!
