I've been playing saxophone for 34 years. I often use the low C/C# with the octave key to play middle C/C#. (I do the same with Bb/B but less frequently because pinkies). I have found this to be a very useful fingering. I also use the side C and regular C frequently, but when you're playing fast, you need to reduce flip-flopping, while being efficient with your fingers. Personal opinion: this fingering gives the middle C/C# a fuller sound, it is more in tune (especially C#), moves faster between C/C3 and upper middle register notes, gives me another alternative to reduce flip-flop. These traits are consistent across alto, tenor and bari. In my 34 years, I'm the only I know who uses it. Have you ever used it/taught it?

Hello. My normal fingering c key sound different with the alternate fingering. When I listen to your sound of these both fingering, they are not identical too. Do they sound the same to you or something wrong with my ears. 😂😂😂. Thank you.

There is a VERY slight different in tone but it is the same pitch.

If you key heights are not proper the side C would be more in tune. The side C is generally in most cases more in tune. Great video for beginners.

Yes, but you can use the bis Bb as well - it depends on the other notes you are playing next as well...
