SIDE MIRROR CORRODED BASE DISASSEMBLY REPAINT AND ASSEMBLY for BMW E60/61

Great job on disassemby. Looks a lot like a bmw E60 mirror. However, Paint job on mirror support is not great. We can cleary see orange peel. You should sand it again using 60grit and apply 3 layers of a high quality clear coat. Then after 48h wet-sand it with grits 1500/2000/3000. Then polish it with a rubbing compound + polish + finish paste or wax.

How did you get the mirror-unit separated from the base which connects to the car?

There is bushing with spring. Drilled away the bussing and replaced with bolt. For wire routing drilled separate hole in case because in original it goes through the bushing. Wire is long enough so it is no problem about damage it while mirror os folding.
