Yellow flags waved almost instantly. Officials went on track to put safety bales as soon as all other sidecars passed the point of crash. I really don't know what else they could do.

@@ByDemonsBeDriven It seems to me that Trevor's point is based on the general experience of British marshalling, not as a 'knock' to those marshals in Croatia. I'm sure they did the best they could in the circumstances, but, for example, discarding a yellow flag just at the time it should be waved is a little puzzling...

@@ByDemonsBeDriven I was astonished how slow the safety team reacted and how unprofessional they placed the safety blocks. I hope they get a propper trainig for the next race .

@@MatiLuke About 40s after the crash and after all the sidecars have passed the the point of the crash. I don't know the rules, but my guess is they have to follow a procedure, probably they needed to wait until it was safe to go out on the track. The barrier was in place when the next lap the sidecars passed. The ambulance got there quickly. Talked with Bennie Streuer the next day, he was walking but the doctors didn't let him race.
