I had the RS 250 cup, remapped it and put a down pipe on it. By far my favourite car for driving purposes. Anyone looking in this hot hatch category, buy one you won’t be disappointed. Nice review mate.

The Ferrari was driven by one of the Goodwood drivers who are really handy. By true, there is a difference between driving a £300k car and a £24k car. Me?.... I’d drive it however I like regardless of the price.

Bruce Wayne yes 100%, the noise from the Ferrari is undoubtably pure art. This is why I drive a 2008 R32 for the noise because the 2.0 4pots don’t excite me. The Megane is a serious weapon for the money!

Had a 250 megane, probably my favourite car i've had especially for the money. Currently have a 240i and although it's so much faster in a straight line it just feels like jelly compared to the megane when you want to go and spank it on a good road... Love the character of these cars. Loved the video, special car! Good to see it on the road and the track.

Alot of people slate renault and all you get is " its french it will fall apart etc" but they have prob never drove one. I have a trophy R liquid yellow 275 and i absolutely love it very capable car on the country roads and upset alot of people in there higher end cars. Might not be as quick in straight lines but which roads are constantly straight.... these cars shine in the twisty roads and are very quick

Hey sid I have a 250 cup with a remap to 300bhp, recarco sears and a k tec exhaust, and it came with air conditioning and radio 80k on the clock but it cost me only 6grand! Can have something very similar to this for a quarter of the price and you barely see any on the road I can't understand why! It's definitely not a family car or a long distance cruiser the sound system is about as useful as a Sony Ericsson phone on the back of the bus back in the school days, but put the back seats down and that's all the sound I need! I'm a Renault sport nut like you too as well bro I've had two clip 200s and now a megane and

Some great car control there! I know too well how that Mégane handles, having had a 250 and a 265 fully specced... Not quite an R of course! I also enjoy your review style so keep it up. I'm currently looking at getting the seat Leon cupra r st and enjoyed your review on that. I normally like manual hot hatches but don't feel there's anything worth the time at the moment. I've had an fk2, i30n performance, two megane rs and a C63 w204. I have one question that might persuade me from 3 pedals. How engaging is the 7 speed DSG in the cupra r st? Does it play ball? I know with a manual I can heel and toe and get a gear. With a DSG I worry it won't give me the gear (if it's safe!)

One thing Renault do well is make some really good cars to use on trackdays. I wouldn't want to daily them but on the track they're mega. I had a phase 1 172 clio and it was the best fun I've had on track days

Hi Sid, im looking at a megane rs 250 CUP which is a little less track focused then the 275R. Would you say its good value for money (£9-10k) . How would it compare to something like your old fiesta ST or Leon Cupra

Hello and welcome! Good question. If it’s driving pleasure your looking for and nothing else. The megane 250 is brilliant value for money and is if not, a better road car than the Trophy R.

Mr Studio I’ve had both the RS250 CUP and the Fiesta ST2 with the MP215 kit. The Fiesta was my favourite, made all the right sounds, was very responsive and playful and seemed to put smile on my face a lot more than the Megane did. However the Megane was much more capable in terms of cornering ability and stability, but a car for me is all about how much of a smile it puts on my face.

Compared to fiesta its literally another league. Leon, depends which you mean, if you mean older, than its not even in question to compete with RS250/265 without huge mods. Just m ake sure you choose CUP or nonCUP version very carefully. Both have pros and cons, but CUP versions are usually way to go unless you got terrible rounds around and you want to daily drive the car.

Decent cars these. And the "its French, it'll break" idiots can fuck right off 😂, all the electrics are all Nissan on these. I bought a 250 cup a few years back, it was awesome; full exhaust system with decat and a tune made around 300bhp. I remember test driving an RS3 directly before buying it, there was no comparison in terms of driver involvement! I've gone on to other cars, but these Renault Sport cars will always have a special place in my heart.

I love this when ppl say the golf mk4 was fat and heavy my golf mk4 1.8 20v got weighed on MOT day the other week and its 1135kg has less lightweight tech n money ploughed in to it if I was to throw 10k in to it I'd get the 100+ kg down with carbon fiber parts lighter clutch etc

The thing is, its a well known fact most ferrari or supercar owners cannot drive. I did mallory way ahead of my mates ferrari by 3 seconds and only 2 seconds behind other mate in hurracane...and i was in a tuned 410bhp 435 diesel...so running less power and more weight
