Sidewinder | Thredbo's New MTB Trail in Incredible Conditions

🚨 NEW TRAIL ALERT 🚨
There's a new kid in town and a new Gondola to go with it. Sidewinder is the new flow trail at Thredbo and it's an absolute banger. Enjoy this mostly top to bottom run following some of the cool cats I travelled with.
The new trail was understandably pretty busy so we had some traffic to contend with but we got a mostly clean run in magical conditions.

Yeah great new trail ... I did it 3 times and the 1st 2 time there were so many kid & parents but the 3rd time I had a clear run with only a few single riders 🤟

Such an epic trail, I think I hit it like 6 times before lunch (only down to mid-station) but holey heck it flows fast... when you get a clear pass as it!

I was up there last Wednesday and rode sidewinder for the first time. It was great but being so new every bastard wanted to ride it so I only did one run unfortunately. Good news was ricochet was really quiet so we did the for that rest of the day.

Yeah it's definitely helped with the congestion on Flow as well. It's a good addition and so is the new lift.

After New Years that trail had more traffic than the m5 motorway. Dads in jeans and sandals, kids and mum’s walking their bikes around the berms. Because the flow is so flogged every man and their dog is on sidewinder.

Loving your vids and the Norco flavour. I’m an intermediate rider with a sight VLT and an optic to choose from at Thredbo next week. What do reckon, the travel and weight of the sight VLT or less travel and lighter optic? I’ll probably try both.

If you can take both do it! Saintberry and I both own Optics and we were thinking how fun they would be on Ricochet and the All Mountain trail. For the faster tracks like the flow I'd go for the extra travel to stop your teeth getting rattled out. Have fun!

Sick vid! I'm going to Thredbo for the first time this Friday and can't wait. What are your favourite trails in order? Also what do you warm up on I was thinking all mountain but dunno cuz they would be crazier in person. Sorry to bombard you with questions but how big are the little side jumps on sidewinder? Flow is the best warm up. I’ve got a video of all the trails coming Monday that should help you out! I really like sidewinder and the AM, hard to pick a fave between those two. Have fun 🤙

Nothing special with my GoPro settings. The good quality on here is mostly from exporting at a high bitrate in premiere pro
