Hello from New Zealand, I ride a Triumph Thunderbird 1600cc, bought a pair of these and love them, as you say more protection than a tour boot, as have a dropped left foot they also help you walk better, better feel, and makes for better confidence when riding or when stationary, great for walking in too, the height is great, highly recommend for cruiser style bikes

That’s interesting that you find it a good fit for a narrow foot; I have a drastically wide foot, and I find they fit extremely well. So kudos to them for figuring out how to make it work for both somehow.

I've also got pretty wide feet! I think perhaps that the type And panelling of the leather moulds to the wearers feet well

I have a pair of the Sidi Adv 2’s as well, probably manufactured about the same time your “new” pair were (if they have been in storage since before the pandemic). I have been very happy with them, and agree they are comfortable and easy to put on. They have given me a lot better level of protection than I had before, wearing leather work boots, and am sure they’ve saved me from ankle injury multiple times. After a couple years and over 20000 km of riding, one of the pair is starting to let water seep through when immersed (I.e. water crossings). I am a little concerned about the increasing reports of worsening quality and customer service from Sidi I keep seeing, but my personal experience with these has been good.

Your experience sounds similar to what I've been led to expect by my experience with the first gen Sidi Adventures. Let's hope the rumours about declining quality are untrue. Super happy to hear that you're riding around in Sidis now rather than work boots, I'm a big fan of proper ankle protection. If I add up the number of times my old Sidis probably kept me out of the hospital, they were a very good value purchase indeed.

I used to wear my Blundy's if just going to Canadian Tire. I eventually bought some Aerostitch ADV boots which were an all-leather boot like I had for off-road. Going to the local store became a ride ,so I'd put them on. I've considered a protected hiking boot so I can still walk. This another option hmm...

Agreed with everything you said, got tired of gluing the sole (and sanding the old dirty glue off) every 3-6 months on mine and gave it away....now I'm missing mine...

Thanks! They are good adventure boots, but for full on dirt biking on the KLX I always ride in motorcross boots for better protection. The KLX is a great little bike after a few mods. :)

@@LuckyNikitaBoba well I have got a pair of Forma’s which I didn’t really want yes grate to walk in but no protection. I do understand they have made better ones since then but always ware my Sidi cross fire 3’s for nilly everything now . When you have broken legs & smashed ankles & lucky to walk again you want the best protection you can get so do have Sidi road boots to after watching the boys from GP get up and walk away 😊

My first SIDI Crossfire lasted 16 years! But SIDI has the worse buckle system. They are hard to press fit compare to Gaerne or Forma. SIDI is very comfortable. Actually, it's the most comfortable boots of all brands. The Gaerne SG2 has to be the boot with the best buckle system. It is so easy to press fit with your fingers.

I really like Gaerne (I am dreaming of SG12s) but I have had their plastic buckles break on me before, and then you need to replace the boots.

Just want to mention Im pretry sure there not made from leather they use a propiety synthetic that looks like leather.

Thanks, you're right. Most of the upper is some sort of sythetic leather-like situation; although I'm confident that the suede panel and the tiny edging/trim around the very top edge of the boot are real leather.

@@BikeHedonia I wonder if the suede on the grey and brown versions is as durable as the black fake leather 🤔
