About a month ago, I dropped my bike on my ankle and broke my fibula. I was only going about 5 mph at the time (stopped hard and dropped it when a person blew a stop sign and almost hit me during a brief gas stop - during the only 5 minutes I was out of the woods). I was wearing the Alpinestars Tech 7s at the time. Fracture was stable and I was able to get away with a walking ankle brace after a week of rest. My Orthopedic specialist believes that the break would have been a lot worse and likely would have required surgery if I had been wearing less protective boots. Or, ya know, flip-flops (thongs for the UK crowd). Great video. Thanks for posting this.

Hope the ankle is coming along well now! Sorry to hear that happened to you but so glad that you were wearing the Tech 7s, like you say! Great investment.

Thanks for your comprehensive "sermon" (your words), Grace. I always wear full protection, even in the heat of summer. But Thailand is another kettle of fish. Gotta try out a MX helmet and goggles, my ADV helmet is quite heavy. And as you said, poor ventilation when riding slowly. Which we do all the time. Yesterday 110 km in 3 hours, 85% unpaved - in Bavaria! Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg

Thanks for your video. On the shifter shaft saver some have suggested the case is soft and it will likely push simply push a whole/crack the case. Thoughts on that? Thanks
@BikeHedoniaАй бұрын
I've been using this style of shaft saver on my KLX230 for years, as have many others, as well as on the CRFs. I've absolutely pretzeled the shift lever without doing any damage at all to the shaft or the case, and I've never heard of case damage from any one. I think it's fairly clear that your shifter lever will give way before there's any damage to the case, given the broad distribution of forces with the thickness of the shaft saver. Of course, if you used some kind of super stiff, super strong aftermarket lever, maybe that wouldn't pretzel and maybe that would transfer more force. But I wouldn't recommend that. Always choose which component you want to be sacrificial piece (and make sure it's steel, so you can bend it back). In this case, pretzel your shifter lever and preserve your shift mechanism and engine case.

Picture this. a Kawasaki KLX150 assembled in Surabaya. two skinny Indonesian soldiers on it seem to always successfully disbanded protesting people in front of Senayan parliament building. Although KLX150 consider to be a big bike compare to small scooters most Indonesian ride, I don't think that what did it. I think its the big menacing automatic riffle that said soldiers clutching to their chest does it. 108 horsie Super Tenere? boy oh boy, even if they sell their grandma, they still can't afford it. Hey Grace, how come I haven't seen this video?

Excellent video! Going to order some stuff from you tonight. Would really appreciate a video explaining the installation of the shaft protector. Not necessarily step by step video, just some pointers on the process.
@BikeHedoniaАй бұрын
To install the shaft protector, you just need to remove the lever off the spline, then slide the protector into place, which is flush against the engine case and the bracket of the front sprocket guard. The reason people have complained that it's a pain to install is because, to easily remove the bolt that holds the shifter onto the spline, you'd normally remove the sprocket guard first. But, in this case you can't do that, because the sprocket guard has to be in place before you install the shifter shaft saver. This means that you can't fully undo the bolt that holds the shifter lever onto the spline - you can only loosen the bolt, slide the lever off, then slide it back on again. Some people find that loosening the bolts on the sprocket guard allow enough movement to make this process easier, while still keeping the sprocket guard in place as required.

Hi, I just installed the idle adjustment on my 2023 KLX230. When I started it, it seemed to work properly - the idle came way down. The second time I started it, I could not get the idle down. I can increase the idle by turning it counterclockwise, but when I turn it clockwise, the idle stays the same as stock. Please help me.. Thank you, Brian Savage
@BikeHedonia2 ай бұрын
Hi Brian, it sounds like the mechanism might be stuck. Can you pull the manual idle screw out for a minute and just check that all parts are moving freely? If something is stuck in the mechanism, please let me know

Hello from New Zealand, I ride a Triumph Thunderbird 1600cc, bought a pair of these and love them, as you say more protection than a tour boot, as have a dropped left foot they also help you walk better, better feel, and makes for better confidence when riding or when stationary, great for walking in too, the height is great, highly recommend for cruiser style bikes
@derekmctavish2 ай бұрын
That’s interesting that you find it a good fit for a narrow foot; I have a drastically wide foot, and I find they fit extremely well. So kudos to them for figuring out how to make it work for both somehow.

I've also got pretty wide feet! I think perhaps that the type And panelling of the leather moulds to the wearers feet well

Adjust your rear brake switch. Mine was to tight so the light was on constantly. I loosened it up a bit and it works now.
@davidloew8254Ай бұрын
@@philipbassist8255 It was a faulty tail light from what I could tell. I couldn't get anything to light up on the blue wire on this taillight. I rigged up my stock tail light to the bracket until I got the TST Industries eliminator. Tst was plug n play, no problems with that one.
