I am not a Pitt fan, nor am I from Nova Scotia, so I have no bias towards him that would cloud my judgment. He's STILL as of this day in 2021 the best player in the world. He does it all. His value as a two way player, top faceoff man, 1st line PP and PK guy is exactly why he's a 3x Stanley Cup champion. Until McDavid and or MacKinnon make a dent in the laundry list of accolades and team accomplishments that Sid has, there is no debate. 87 by a mile.

@@kericlark2693 When Ovechkin was in his prime, he produced the same amount as McDavid but scoring statistically lower, when he scored 65 goals in 2007-2008, if it was the scoring rates of today, he would have gotten a little over 90 (I don't remember the exact number), Ovechkin when he was McDavid wasn't as fast. but still very fast, he had and still has a better shot, plays much more physically, and has the big body advantage, with around equal dangles. So overall, Ovi > McDavid (Not saying he's not a superstar, McDavid is an absolute stud.)

I've been a Flyers fan my entire life, and I've had to deal with him shattering my teams dreams over and over again, and at one point, my country as well. Although my city may spit on his name and forbid anyone to cheer from him, I thank Crosby as a hockey fan. He is by far my favorite player of all time. The way he plays the game with such poise and control, the fact when he gets the puck, the entire arena moves to the front of their seat.....waiting in anticipation for greatness. Sid the Kid, my entire city hates you, but growing up as a kid, you're the only player I loved watching. You will forever be my favorite.

Crosby will go down as one of the best, and arguably THE best all-around player in NHL history. But even so he'll be lucky to get to the 650 goal mark when he's done, and extremely lucky if he gets to 700, but it's looking unlikely. He would need to be scoring much more goals than he is right now. Is age finally catching up to him?? or is it the past concussions/injuries? To get to the 700 goal club he would have to be scoring prolifically and sustain it for many more years.
