I've used this tutorial for a piece once before, but seeing it again I'm convinced that this is by far the simplest and prettiest method of bezeling a 14mm Rovolii I have ever seen!! I have some really pretty ones in Clear ABx2 with the silver backing that I wondered if I would ever use ... well I'm off to collect the rest of my materials right now ... I can't WAIT to wear my new necklace with the gorgeous white shirt-dress in raw silk I'm going to match it with!! It has bronze and silver embroidery all around the neck and sleeves, and even though I have the leggings, shoes and bag to go with - I I hadn't worn it yet because it needed something else .. like your necklace!!! And I think there'll be enough Rivolis left for a matching bracelet!! THANK YOU SO MUCH SIDONIA!! I've made quite a few pieces based on your designs. I never do exactly the same thing .. I always deviate and do my own thing somewhere along the way - like, I'll think about trying something different here or there or using a completely different bead .. like baby FW rice-pearls, or rounds or rondelles instead of just bicones or whatever, and that often upsets the seed bead count, but I always have a lot of fun working it out .. even if I have to undo my cabochon several times .. it's all about learning to be more creative and original. I adapted this design once before for a 60mm Green Aventurine Cab necklace worn as a 6-strand choker (a la Princess Di style) and whenever I wear it the looks and comments it get make me smile. I LOVE YOUR WORK, AND YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER!! THANK YOU!!

Please make sure that the seed beads you used are not cylinder seed beads (Miyuki Delicas). Miyuki can be either Delicas or Rocailles: make sure those you are using are NOT Delicas (cylinder seed beads). The Delicas have a cylinder shape, the Rocaille are more like little donuts; Delicas are bigger than Rocailles even if of the same size. Intro to Seed Beads

Hi, Ioana. 3mm pearls are a bit bigger than 3mm bicones, so they wouldn't work, especially for the bezeling. This is an online store where you can find everything you need: perlesandco.com. They are located in France. The shipping prices are quite affordable. Have a nice week end, Sidonia

Amazing! I love it. Will try to make it for myself :) Could you please give me a rough estimate about how many grams of Miyuki 15/0 seed beads do you need? If possible :) It is hard to buy them just like that since they are not so cheap.

You are amazing. Thank you for sharing your talents. Could you please advise the name/colour of the 4mm swarovski bicone you use in this tutorial? It looks like blue opal on my monitor but that could be off. Anyway, I have looked for this colour and haven't been able to find it. Thanks.
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry11 жыл бұрын
Tha bicones are Montana Blue. You can find the list of the materials in the description box, under the video. :-)
@jkirby822511 жыл бұрын
Sidonia's handmade jewelry Thank you. I knew you had listed the materials used and Montana Blue was the colour of the components in the necklace but thought the blue 4mm bicones in the tutorial with the pink seed bead was different from Montana Blue because on my monitor it looks cloudy or murky. Is that 4mm Blue Montana, too? Thanks.
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry11 жыл бұрын

Beautiful piece. Would like to try making this. One doubt - when bezzling the chaton, is it 11/0 seed bead or 15/0 seed bead used together with 3mm white crystal to make the circle??
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry11 жыл бұрын
15/0s. I only use 11/0s for the last row of seed beads: the one I add before adding the 4mm bicones.
@carajones712110 жыл бұрын
Hi Sidonia, Thanks so much for your lovely design and patient tutorial. I have made the 14 mm bezel fine, but with the 8 mm bezel the beadwork is loose at the back, and the chaton slips around a bit. I have tried redoing it a couple of times with the same materials as the 14mm and it keeps happening. My chaton is 39 ss - could it be slightly smaller than yours? Thanks in advance. Cara
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry10 жыл бұрын
Hi, Cara, you are very welcome. :-) I think the reason your stone is slipping out is that you are using 8mm rivolis instead of chatons. Rivolis are bicone shaped while chatons are diamond shaped and, even if of the same size, chatons are bigger, like more fatty :-). So if your stone has two pointed sides you are using the wrong stone, that's why it slips out of the beadwork. Let me know if this is the case. Sidonia
@carajones712110 жыл бұрын
You are right. Thanks for your quick reply. If I loosen the bezel and replace the rivoli with a chaton I shouldn't have to redo the beadwork?
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry10 жыл бұрын
If you didn't reduce the number of seed beads trying to make the rivoli fit in, it should work.

Hi Sidonia, I want to get these supplies but I can't find Fireline size B and what color. Also, the supply list says 2 colors of 15 0 seed beads but what size is the pink ones uses on this project? I can"t wait to get started. Thank you
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry10 жыл бұрын
The colors listed bellow the video are the actual colors of the necklace. Those I'm using in the video are these: 4mm cyclamen opal bicones, 3mm amethyst bicones and 14mm grey opal rivoli. The pink 15/0 seed beads are called Opaque Matte Light Rose, code 2024 (Miyuki). The other seed beads are the same color used for the blue necklace: 15/0 and 11/0 Miyuki Matte Met Dark Bronze, code 2006. You can find the Firele thread here: www.fusionbeads.com/Smoke-Gray-FireLine-Braided-Bead-Thread-006-diameter-4-lb-Size-B if you live in the USA or here www.perlesandco.co.uk/Fireline_braided_Nylon_thread_010mm_%284LB%29_Smoke_Grey_x45_m-p-12146.html if you live in Europe. @jkirby822511 жыл бұрын
Hi again. I think I am confusing this but it is the colour of the 4mm bicone in the first part of the part 1 tutorial when you are making the larger component I am inquiring about not the blue Montana in the actual necklace. All the blue Montana I have looked at are clear transparent blue not the opaque 4mm blue in part 1 video. At least on my monitor while watching the Part 1, the 4mm bicone in the larger component looks like an opaque blue. Thanks for any help in naming this particular colour of Swarovski. Could it be Air Blue Opal?
@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry11 жыл бұрын
Oh, it's my fault..:-) The colors I gave you are the actual colors of the necklace. Those I'm making the bigger bezel with are these: 4mm cyclamen opal bicones, 3mm amethyst bicones and 14mm grey opal rivoli. The seed beads are the same 15/0 Miyuki, code 2006. I hope this cleared everything up for you. Let me know if you need other info. Sidonia

If the rivoli fell out, it means that you didn't do everything right. The most common error, usually, is using 15/0 Delicas insted of 15/0 seed beads (Rocailles). Let me know if this is the case, please.
