I guess you refer to how apparently the city fell since someone forgot to lock a gate.....but i'd say it be one epic thing to make a tale about not so much for how it fell...since that was more or lees forgone by that point after the venitian sacking and the turks systematic occupation of the lands around the city isolating it. but how the turks acted on reports that a earth quake hade damaged large parts of the city walls ,only once ther armies got there...the city populance hade rebuilt them in record speed so i guess whom ever was responsible for locking the gate they got in through might been a bit worn out..you dont repair ,leet alone rebuild solid concentric walls in a jiffy after all ^^ that takes some blood and sweat to get done.

He actually fled from Hattin, and one Christian account claims he "fled the field in the middle of the battle, trampling the Christians, the Turks and the Cross in the process". Later he requested from Saladin to be able to escort his wife and children, which Saladin provided in exchange for his oath to never fight Saladin again. Which he broke immediately after safely traversing through Saladin's lands and reaching Jerusalem. Despite he broke his oath, Saladin still safely led his wife and children through after the siege.
