I love that they put the effort into fighting this battle for style, over substance. Such as the vanguard naval landing to clear the beach, the scripted 'duel'. Sometimes that's just what you want. Stage a wicked battle, and make it entertaining to watch.

Love watching your battles and vids got rome total war 2 but really struggle to know what troops to select and good strats to win, none of my friends own the game so i have no help either hahaha

As rome use 9 units of legionary cohorts 1 eagle cohort 3 evocati cohorts and the legate and 1 legionary cavalry the others are auxiliarys, archers and one or two units of balistas or onagas The legionary and eagle cohorts in two lines and the 3 evocati behind them the flanks can be protected by auxiliarys and because you have two major lines and one reserve you have at any time fresh troops on the frontline and your tired troops can retreat and recover. Your legionary cavalry is only to protect the flanks or artillery and to kill the enemy after the battle. If you play the Divide et Impera mod as macedon or macedonic faction use at every army one taxis of pikemen one taxis are 6 units. The taxis is the left wing and your hoblites are the right wing. Behind the taxis are light shocktroops as flankingtroops or other activities and the 4 units cavalry and general are on the very left or right ready to be used as the hammer on the back of your enemis. A good thing are also archers and slingers. Archers with fire arrows are good to panic enemy elefants and let them run amok among their own troops. A good shock unit is also the thracian warrior with the romphaia. I hope it helps and that my english is not that bad.

It's neither full historical TW nor full Fantasy TW which will inevitably frustrate both communities. From my pov, i would rather see either a fully realised fantasy depiction, or a fully realised history based one and would be happy whichever way they go, just want them to commit to one or the other, not an odd hybrid.
