2:14:00 Kristoff is the dead Grey Warden that Justice used as his vessel for a time in Awakening. Aura is his wife, you meet her during his companion quest. 2:16:10 They're talking about the OG Blackwall who recruited Thom Rainer and whose identity was stolen.

Finally finished watching this! Firstly, the amount of exploration you did NOT do in Kal-Sharok makes me weep 😢 But that aside, well done on the siege! That boss fight especially. Very clutch. I actually died once in this fight, it was already near the end, Rook was saying goodbye to Davrin and all that, I wasn't even out of potions I simply got knocked around so much I didn't have the chance heal. Thankfully I didn't have to redo the entire fight. Got respawned at the third stage with the 3 Razikale heads. Anyway, can't wait for the next part.

8:15 We've never seen Kal-Sharok before, but have heard about its re-emergence as early as the Dwarven Noble origin. And to be clear, you don't visit Kal-Sharok here, it's just an outpost. There's also some conversations you can listen in on if you explore the initial area a bit, but unfortunately I don't believe you can revisit the outpost. 2:14:02 Kristoff was the dead Warden that Justice possessed in Awakening. 2:17:10 This note is a reference to Malcolm Hawke. His blood was used for Corypheus's prison, and the Grey Wardens were trying to keep track of the Hawke family's movements.

Didn't we make contact with Kal-Sharok in Inquisition? Why did Harding say 20 years ago?

@@AndyJP That wasn't the first contact with Kal-Sharok. There is a scene in the Dwarven Noble Origin in Origins where King Aeducan mentions being in contact with the Assembly of Kal-Sharok and is discussing potential trade relations, putting their re-emergence at least 20 years prior to Veilguard.

-So there are three types of companion missions from what I can tell. Conversations which are just cutscenes, Outings which are just like you and the companion walking around and maybe solving puzzles while you talk and no combat happens, and Quests which are full fledged side missions. I think the Harding one was your first Quest. -The Seige of Weisshaupt is one of my favorite missions in the game. It's just so frantic and really makes you feel like you're in over your head. -Once again Welonz is so much nicer than me. I had been waiting to punch the First Warden ever since our first meeting 😅

There's a skill somewhere on the bottom left of the skill tree, a greater passive, that turns necrotic attacks into physical ones. I used that skill whenever I had to deal with darkspawn, since they resist necrotic so much.

52:00 - This armour's a Mass Effect reference! 😄 That's why it mentions facing a 'war council' in its flavour text haha. (plus the N7 colours and 'Specter' in its name ;P ) 2:14:55 - I think many Wardens, no matter their origins, come to genuinely believe in the Wardens' mission. Like Davrin said, there's a lot of redemption stories. It also 'helps' that Wardens already know they have shorter lives than most because of the Calling. And so, thankless as it can be, I think there'll always be brave individuals who'd willingly make the ultimate sacrifice to end a Blight.

So with the archdemon dead, i guess the reason people thoight wardens needed to kill them originally is due to the evanuris being sealed, they needed to use their archdemons as proxies for them. But this meant if a warden kills them, due to wardens already having souls, the soul of the evanuris inhabiting their dragon will die with the warden. The reason why Davrin is alive is due to ghil and elgar'nan being freed, it meant that they didnt need to put their souls into their dragons like the other five, thus when davrin killed Razikale, all it did was just transfer the power back to Ghil and render her mortal. So in a sense the archdemons were the evanuris's philacteries for their souls like how a lich would put their soul into something, long as the phylactery wasnt destroyed, the lich could keep coming back. Same concept here I supposed, ghil lost her phylactery with Razikale, now she is vulnerable to death.

Maybe. But the earlier Blights don't really make much sense with the revelation that it was the Evanuris in the driver's seat of the Archdemons this whole time. The First Blight lasted for almost *two hundred years* without whichever Evanura was in charge actually doing anything beyond rampaging, and the successive Blights seem much too...mechanical if they were actually being directed by god-like beings trapped in the Fade. The Archdemons emerged one at a time and immediately threw themselves at whatever power they happened to encounter on the surface without any kind of subtlety or plan, even *knowing* that the surfacers demonstrably had the means to kill them permanently.

@dargaronsoftsong3193 i think the reason the first blight lasted so long was because of just that. It was the first blight in history, and thus no one had any clue how to beat it till the first grey wardens managed to do it with the joining ritual. And the rest were also different given their shortened lengths each time. I suspect the reason for that was due to the veil getting weaker as each archdemon was slain. This means that the breach probably couldn't have happened as badly as it did in inquisition because only two archdemons were left and the veil was weakened...which now that I think about it, Solas had planned to have corpheyous use the orb to blow a hole into the veil, but that would mean the blight would have flooded out like crazy.

@@Drag0nk1ngmark My point was that the revelation that the Archdemons were being controlled by the Evanuris from inside their prison via the Blight doesn't match up with the behavior of Archdemons from previous games/lore snippets. Whichever Evanura had control of the Archdemon Dumat had basically free reign to do whatever he pleased for two hundred years, but chose to spend that time attacking the Tevinter Imperium (their best chance at freeing their physical body from Solas' prison) until the surfacers *finally* devised countermeasures in the form of the Grey Wardens and killed him. The historical Blights don't seem to benefit the Evanuris at all (either individually or as a group) and even were counterproductive because the Evanuris already had Tevinter in their grasp and were able to trick the Magisters into trying to breach "forbidden" areas of the Fade in search of power (similar to how Elgar'nan and Ghilen'nain are using the Venatori now). Destroying Tevinter by having Dumat lead the First Blight against them means no more giant blood rituals like the one Corypheus orchestrated that might free the Evanuris from their prison.

Off topic but not really. In DA:2 We drop off Merill at her home and she precisely said “Elgar'nan” is this where all the elves live? Here we are with a bad boy named Elgar'nan. What does that make anyone think of Merill now? Or did the writers looked back and thought it would be clever? Because the irony is there. Cool game, Seriously!

Before this game, the elves thought the Evanuris to be the good gods, and called them the Creators. That's why you find statues to them around Dalish camps.
