Nothing’s been better or my motivation than waking up slightly earlier and paint 1 hour every morning before work etc. drink some coffee and listen to an audiobook. Everyday you see progress and it’s addictive. And yeah same, 1 hour gym each day, progress. Oh ya and cheap wins! After batch painting something tedious, I’ll treat myself to painting something standalone and really visual and satisfying. ☺️

Recently launched a small studio and this really helped, thanks guys :) Used to be a PT but lost my gym when COVID hit. So the comparison of gym vs Painting is totally relatable. I do miss painting my own stuff though.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE!! A new model for one of my favourite warhammer fantasy vilians ever. Arbaal the Undefeated! Man that was such an epic looking mini back then and would think a new plastic model with the talent that recides within GW now he would look amazing. Would pay a hefty sum of money to paint up a scaled up 2023 model of him.

Agree with James, you only need the backing paper damp, once the backing has darkened remove it from the water and put it on a dry paper towel, apply as you would normally

My main concern with base rims for gaming pieces is that the rim paint will chip with regular use. I like other almost-black colors, including Incubi Darkness, so I don't have to go full team black. It is because most of the time I prime black. My main army used Steel Legion and it looks nice but sooner or later those base rims are going to get repainted something else because of all the battle damage.

There is a T’au character vehicle called Longstrike. Speaking of the T’au and lore things with no models in the game, there’s a long list of aliens that are part of the T’au empire that don’t even have concept art.

Always a pleasure listening to you chaps. A question from me this week - do you have an alternative to GW plastic glue? The needles on my pots always end up getting clogged. There's a couple of models I'd love to see. Characters wise it would be either the guardsman Ollanius Pius or the ork Tuska Daemon-Killa. As for vehicles, Rynn's Might would be awesome. It's got some great lore behind it. Alternatively, bring back the Battlefleet: Gothic range for some sweet space action!

Tamiya extra thin cement has replaced the GW stuff for me. Much easier apply and work with thanks to the brush applicator that also won't clog.

you don't even need water for transfers, you can just paint the micro sol on the back of the transfer and it'll come off the backing

@MrSteelface9611 ай бұрын
I only ever failed one transfer so far lel. it's really not that hard. get the lid of your DIY waterpallet, make it tilt slightly with a pen under it. Put a little water on there, just need like 1 milimeter, chill for it to detach and then slide your Hobbyblade flat under the loose transfer and then just slide the transfer of from the hobbyblade onto the model with the little brush you just used to apply micro sol/set with. if the decal is really tiny use the end of the handle of the brush to push it of the hobbyblade or you might have the brush swallowing the decal.

It was a tie between T'au or Sa'cea Septs. I noticed I have a tendency tolike painting yellow or white with accents of blue, red or green schemes. But when I get to T'au we'll see if I switch from T'au to Sa'cea EDIT: Yes! Dental stuff and Warhammer almost go hand-in-hand!

Black base rims all the way! They look great on any battlefield.
@toastle800510 ай бұрын
As they ended up agreeing, it depends on what’s on the base, not the battlefield. If brown or khaki fits your basing and models- do it. Hell, I’ve even seen Emperor’s Children (30k) players pull off gold rims, and a Custodian player who pulled off a wine red on their rims that looked absolutely incredible against the gold. 95% of the time, go black; if the situation calls for it, do what authors do to the English language, and say “fuck the rules, I’m doing this instead.”

If the rim is dirty, Just put some clingfilm over it before you rim it😂😂😂 And Jormungand is old norrse for The World Serpent, and as a Norwegian i would actully think names like that would be best suited for space wolves as its the way we did talk here like 800+ years ago. And the way james does decals is the way we that do scalemodels have done it for decades

Haven't listenned yet, but as a general rule, motivation is fickle, discipline is key. You want to get an army painted? Don't wait for motivation, just get disciplined to paint everyday (or what ever suits your schedule) at X time for at least X amount of time. It's the same for training in anything, be it going to the gym, learning a new skill, perfecting a skill, etc.
