Emperor's Children represent! Re Word Bearer's - the most influential legion in Warhammer 30/40k, and great colour scheme.

the reaction that Word Bearers get based on their lore and characters shows they are solid mid-tier if not higher. They are the best from a modelling perspective too, loads of gifts from chaos and recent converts to heresy era marines. ( I play Iron warriors so I'm dull and sad and angry about it).

Got to laugh "We'll be doing these from a painting POV, not a lore POV" 30 minutes later: "ANYTHING THAT INCLUDES EREBUS CAN GET IN THE BIN!!!!! BOTTOM TIER!!" Hmmmmm, kinda sounds like you're doing that from the lore and not the painting there 😉 🤣🤣

Night Lords have snuff films playing on their armour. That’s one of the most freaky things in space marine lore and I love it.

For SM Part 2 I'd do at least all Forge World Chapters that had rules/special characters in previous editions, because A) it's not a lot of lore to research but what is there is interesting; B) they're some of the more known ones like Raptors and Minotaurs so they'll be relevant to a bunch more people than just picking successors at random; C) They deserve to be remembered and with FW campaign books gone they might start fading away soon; D) I collect Star Phantoms. P.S. I use transfers I'm not Michelangelo

My fully painted TSons army that took me 5 years is going in S tier. 🧙🏻‍♂️ Also, they don't take more Daemons than any other legion in the game. Tzaangors are not daemons, they are mutants.

The amount of time it took me to choose a colour scheme for my second edition Chaos Space Marines back in the day, especially with those amazing photos of Night Lords Terminators in the codex.

They said judging from a painting perspective until they got to Word Bearers where they barely even mentioned what color they were. I understand that not everyone likes my favorite legion as much as I do, but to just label them as boring, and put them at the bottom because of one character, with no regard for their style, and scheme just rubs me the wrong way.

You could have saved yourself some trouble with Night Lords and trying to explain Curze. He was 40k Batman, and Nostramo was Planet-Gotham. Love the Ride the Lightning comment though, I too had never pieced those together despite loving both for decades!

on the Black legion. you can also have a few bits in the old SoH green to show some of the really old veterans off. I too trimmed some of my berzerkers with some black trims and other areas to signify they CAN be a part of the hounds of abby D. Also ya the World Eaters are just my favorite...lore wise and everything. love to hear you guys appreciate them too and cant wait to see some of my models come home from you guys :)

Flesh colours on emperors children: Back in the day some metal sculpts had marines with studded gloves and riding chaps (as did the original keeper of secrets) many people would paint these up as flayed human skin.

Great show chaps. Really like the personal takes on what's cool for each of you and background from Loremaster James. I'm really feeling the draw to Word Bearers now just for the pure disdain they seem to have in the general hobby space! They're basically the naughty child's choice 😅 Plus, like Black Legion, you can just use standard CSM minis but have the option for kitbashing or decorative paint jobs. As for tier lists moving forwards I reckon a list of popular chapters/legions that don't have current specific miniatures in 40k (but may have had in the past or in other games). Such as Alpha Legion, Legion of the Damned, Howling Griffons, Tome Keepers etc. Top show. Definitely S Tier 👍

Saying that Night Lords is Raven Guards' aesthetic but cooler, is putting words to some of my darker thoughts while painting sneaky beakies, and I don't like it one bit

hi guys im new to warhammer only painted a handful of models on my last couple im finding the paint is rubbing off . i do use citadel undercoat could it be because i dont wear gloves and the oil from the skin is making this happen ? thanks . love the channel btw

They got the iron father , the tecmarine thats made for that legion/chapter and you can use the generic one, so two models that is nice characters for them. And Emperors Children (deffenetly S tier) is getting new stuff this year if the leaks are correct. And keep it chaos in the future or do a deep dive on space wolves 😂😂

Ranking based on what? If the Word Bearers were slimy double crossing backstabbers that caused the civil war, then they should be #1. Because that is what being bad is about. As for theme, they are pretty much daemon possessed and daemon users with their marines, but as of right now, most daemons are not that good to take as extras, so hopefully they do something with the new chaos codex, especially with Dark apostles being tiny bit better to use. Color scheme is pretty good. conversion better with the more daemon theme than black legion. As for power base, just like the others, Daemon PRinces heretic suck, abaddon is good but really is black legion.

The word bearers are rubbish, totally agree. They did however predict the future religion of the imperium. They created the religion for their sins, and corrupted the imperium into religion which stands for everything that the emperor was against!
