Thank you for watching! We took the Vireak Buntham Airbus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh because our preferred bus was booked out. Luckily we were able to secure our favourite seats on our favourite bus on the way back to Siem Reap. The hotel was fantastic and we will definitely stay there again. Bus 1: Vireak Buntham $16 (includes snack and lunch) Hotel: Ohana Phnom Penh Palace Hotel (between $30 and $40) Bus 2: Mey Hong Transport $10

I recommend The Giant Ibis sleeper bus, its like being on a first class night flight, if your 6' or over, book two tickets for one double and you can stretch out if you sleep diagonally across the bed. But if you suffer from claustrophobia book a bed directly across from the bus front door as the aisle is very tight and dark. Staff are very good, honest, a ticket officer at the Siem Reap office unknowingly overy charged me $10 and he went all the way to the station to give it back. Thank you Clair and Jeremy, your work is really tremendous.

That's really lovely to hear. I honestly think most locals are not out to rip people off, and it's great that there are stories out there to support this - thanks for sharing! We've not taken the night bus as we prefer to travel during the day. Have a great day!

Just did Mey Hong a couple weeks ago. Was a little nervous about the $10 but everything was great, even went out of their way to drop me off in Ph’av at the central market about 40 minutes north of PP. Nothing fancy but like yourselves, they get good reviews and are perfectly acceptable!

Definitely a solid hotel, particularly for that part of town. Not sure about river cruise from PP to SR, it might depend on the water levels of the Tonle Sap. You can take a boat from Siem Reap to Battambang in the wet season and I have heard that's a nice journey as well. Thanks for watching!

Clare , Jeremy, Question with out notice, With all your rental experience in Cambodia, have you ever had issues getting your Deposit back, Peter,
@ForRiel4 сағат бұрын
In the instances where we've broken the lease, we have expected to lose the deposit and factored it into our decision. We left one apartment because of noise, and in that case, the landlord gave us half back, which was unexpected. When we have stayed the full duration of the lease, we have never had an issue with the deposit being returned. People talk about not getting their deposit back and I think in many cases it says more about the tenant (and how they left the property) than the landlord.

Thanks Clare , appreciate the feedback Peter,

The one time we made the trip, we flew. On another issue, I see Jeremy is a big guy, not a criticism, it is what it is. Is there a place in siem reap to get clothes for big people? My wife and I are still planning on residing in SR, but don’t want to bring 5 suitcases of clothes with us. Cheers Kim
@ForRiel5 сағат бұрын
Yes, Jeremy has long legs and struggles to find anywhere to put them. That's one of the many reasons we don't use minivans. We have very few clothes and just wear the same ones constantly. We came with a suitcase each and that was adequate for our needs. It's hard to find larger size clothing but there are a few stores in PP, and there's also Decathlon, but you have to be lucky there as the big sizes sell out really quickly.

Hey Hey, great Vlog as always. Question, I am booking VET Air Bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap end for end of this month and wondering if seat 1B is ok... it basically on the toilet side where Jeremy had no leg room but 1B is directly being the driver.... The opposite side is already taken. You reckon the leg room behind the driver is ok? Would you say window or isle if so? EDIT: Also looking at Mey Hong and seat is available. I was concerned that there are no toilets on board but your vlog is saying Kampong Thom (the first stop) is half way so I guess if needed to go it's only 3 hours between which is no issues. I am guessing a tuk tuk or grab is only a 5 minute trip from street 136 PP to Mey Hong transport.
@ForRiel2 сағат бұрын
I think that whole side is the same. I wouldn't book that bus unless I could get the side opposite the toilet. Mey Hong is great. They do a toilet stop in the first hour, then Kampong Thom, so it's not very long to wait. I'd allow a bit longer for the trip to Mey Hong HQ as traffic can be bad in PP.

We always used to use Giant Ibis between SR and PP. The worst part was the lunch stop restaurant. Called the Fly Trap. Over priced cold meals that 3 out of 3 times was not what we ordered. Inexperienced staff. All new hires being constantly trained. And hundreds of flies nonstop. Tried VET and was pleasantly surprised. More modern comfy seats, enroute lunch of your choice served on board saves 45 minutes travel time. And much cheaper than GI as well 👍
@ForRiel49 минут бұрын
Unfortunately we have had 2 very uncomfortable trips on the VET air bus and prefer the cheaper Mey Hong bus. The worst thing was the lunch stop but with the 7/11 just around the corner it's been a real game changer.

In vietnam the hotels that have buffet breakfast, people that dont stay in the hotel can also join the buffet for a set price ( around 6usd ). Is it the same there in Cambodia ? Or do you have to be a hotel guest to join the breakfast buffets ?

@@ForRiel Are there any hotels in Siem Riep that offer buffet breakfasts ? maybe a good topic to do a video on. Here in Vietnam its quite popular for Backpackers and Tourists to do the Breakfast buffets in the mornings. I'm sure it would make a fascinating topic to know if the same is available in Siem Riep, Perhaps Kampot as well, those seem to be the 2 destinations that are popular these days.
@ForRiel27 минут бұрын
Many of the bigger hotels have good buffet breakfasts, smaller ones usually have a set menu. Kampot hasn't many large hotels so it would be mainly off the menu. Due to price so you may have to pay extra, but there are some amazing cafes in Kampot so food with a view is never a problem.
