Thanks for watching! All prices are in USD. Links to websites mentioned are in the description. 😊 We didn't include information about visas or the visa process here for three reasons: 1. We are not visa experts. 2. Visa and entry rules can change very quickly. 3. Visa conditions and entry rules can vary depending on which passport you hold. For Cambodia visa information, please refer to the Facebook group linked in the description of this video. Thanks for your understanding!

another great video guys! I was just thinking the other day about options for this exact route so you read my mind 🙂 would always prefer a door to door taxi service or even the bus option over a flight for this as adding in the amount of time for transferring to/from airports is a no brainer to save on the cost. Air Asia are buggers too as they auto add on your baggage (30KG) once you select your flight so be aware to take this off before confirming if not needed.
@ForRiel17 сағат бұрын
We really enjoy the door to door service and it's much less stressful than flying. Sometimes the immigration queue to get into Thailand at the airport can be very long and take on hour or two, so then you'd be up to the same amount of time as the taxi. Thanks for watching!

Great info, thanks for the vid! You're right that with the new airport in SR being 1 hr away plus needing to be at the airport ~3 hrs before your flight, the plane option isn't much quicker than the bus or taxi service. Thanks for the comparison. Hope you hadan enjoyable vacay. Will you be posting vids of your holiday, or was it entirely private/ not for KZbin? Cheers & happy new year! 👍 🎉

My Aussie dollars are rubbish here in Thailand atm. Hence, we have to count the penny's much more carefully nowadays. Turns out a flight to Hanoi from Chiangmai is cheaper than a flight to Hua Hin. And just to rub it in, Airasia wanted an extra 500Baht because I wanted to sit next to my partner!. Needless to say, i told them to sit on it. So we arrived in Hua Hin on a long bus trip this morning.
@ForRiel12 сағат бұрын
Oh I hate that! We protest quietly by going on the same flight but not sitting together. 🤣
@vgshwk18 сағат бұрын
Thanks one thing you didn’t mention was where your bus station or drop off in Bangkok was. Long taxi ride hua hin to siem reap. Sometimes getting from hua hin to Bangkok can be a bear due to traffic and roadwork.
@ForRiel18 сағат бұрын
The big buses stop once near Suvarnabhumi Airport then again near Khao San Road. We were lucky that traffic on the road from Hua Hin to Bangkok was flowing well. It was a long day but when all you have to do is sit and look out the window, it's ok.
@robertwilliamson9224 сағат бұрын
@vgshwk The Giant Ibis bus from Siem Reap drops you off just outside the walls of Wat Bowaniwet Wihan Ratchaworawihan, in the Phra Nakhon area of Bangkok. From there it is just a short walk to Khao San Road and Rambuttri Road. I was very happy with the Giant Ibis service. No complaints. I wish our long route buses in North America were as good.

Valuable information, thank you for sharing! I like the idea of a door to door service, it's pricey but you don't have to deal with all the hassle and it's not that much longer than flying. How do you find the driver once on the Thai side, do they have a sign with your name?
@ForRiel19 сағат бұрын
We really enjoy the door to door aspect of a private car - no stress at all! On the Thai side, the driver was waiting at KFC. The company had sent us a photo of the car and its license plate so we could easily find it. Everything went really smoothly, and if you have 3 people, it really is a great deal!

@@ForRiel speed is of little importance Claire - experience is everything. With a train I can jump off if I fancy, not doable with other forms of transport I'd guess?

Thanks as usual you guys give great info..How many land crossing are you allowed intonThailand from Cambodia if you have a Cambodian retirement visa..Or is that just something for Thai visa holders?
@ForRiel19 сағат бұрын
It used to be two crossings by land into Thailand per calendar year, but I am not sure if that changed recently. Thailand changed a lot of things to make it easier such as scrapping the paper arrival card. It would be great if it had changed!

Hi Clair and Jeremy. In 2017 I took the Giant Ibis bus from Siem Reap to Bangkok, and the service was great. No complaints. Helped us through immigration at Poipet….(long wait in line) and dropped us off in Bangkok just a short walk from Khao San Road and Rambuttri Road. (Soi Ram Buttri). In Bangkok my apartment was on Rambuttri Road. It was less than $40 back then. I think I paid only $31 or $35 for Giant Ibis from Siem Reap to Bangkok. No surprise it costs more now. But I love your suggestion of mini van and train for $14. Amazing deal. Just love the wonderful Buddhist temples in Bangkok, and the food and markets. What a city…. Thanks for the videos. 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🌴 🌴 🌴 ✈️ 🙂

A few moons ago (ok...many moons) we took taxis from Siem Reap to the border. The taxis looked really cool. Sedans with these huge fat tyres. We learned why on the corrugated nightmare road from HELL!! The nightmare continued when we got dropped off - which hurt because our bones were broken - and got on a bus which decided not to leave until it was full. FFS. So the last passengers to get on were stinking drunk sweaty half naked Glaswegians. One sat beside me, shirtless and soaking wet, and fell asleep with his head on my shoulder while the others just smoked continuously. For hours. All of these alternatives look golden!! But we just fly now. Or we will when we return. Time passes differently when broken up into sections. Trip to the airport...check in...food and coffee...little wee flight with a snack..another bloody airport..a taxi..and beer.
