Good comparison to Chiang Mai or Da Nang. Siem Reap is beautiful and chill. What kind of Internet speeds are you getting around town there?
@rebornabroad2 жыл бұрын
We didn't have any problems with the internet but it definitely is nowhere as fast as Chiang Mai.

Google and reality are two different things. Also, availability of jobs that pay higher. Good luck with that, lol 😆 😅

Hello, new Sub and thanks. I am retired with a decent pension, not looking to earn money. What would you recommend for an ex Canadian that likes cooler temps, cycling and swimming (fresh water) in Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand? Also reasonably clean, I have developed a cough in the Philippines related to motorcycling and the terrible fossil fuel pollution. Any advice from you or subscriber is appreciated. Cam

Hi I’m thinking of Visiting it’s a semi possible move there in YOUR Opinion u think Siem Reap is safer than Phnom Penh as far as getting robbed of ur phone etc etc? I’m used to BIG city life but as I get older I want to live in peace with many trees around me and parks and NOT have to live in fear Although ALL of Cambodia anything can happen., My main concern is the food IF I DONT EVER EAT OFF THE STREET are the chances much better I won’t get sick? And is it Possible I can get a dryer obviously a washer too but a DRYER in my apartment IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL And what about English speaking TV channels is this doable? I guess what I’m trying to say is I DONT wanna waste my time going to Phnom Penh if it’s As Dangerous as people say 🤷🏼♀️ Thanks for the info and your time in advance I’m not that spoiled but let’s be real 🙄🤣🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Better for what ? And better for whom ? - - - Never been to CAMBODIA but from the extensive research I've done - and my old age - I'll take Siem Reap for retirement. Just about the perfect size to offer about everything you would need or want for being retired. The cost of living there is so affordable compared to most anywhere else. Over 55 & you have it made with just a tourist visa ! -- One retired there for a number of years claims that it's possible to have a reasonably comfortable life on as little as $700 - $800 / month there in Siem Reap. -- My exploration for more than a year does confirm that as a possibility when comparing costs in many countries. Visa law is cheap and easy compared to about all others as well. -- It appears my $1500 SS will enable me to be quite comfortable if these guys are telling the truth about many living there on $900 SS very easily. Some rents are extremely low depending on how picky you might be. Something there for about every budget it seems.

Siem Reap is much much cheaper, but it's a village compared to PP. So it matters who we are talking about. The video title is to get people to click. It's so clear that it worked with you. You can live on 900 for a single person for sure in SR. PP is still possible, but it won't be a great life. Depends on the standards you are used to. We don't eat low quality food, and we stay in good accommodations, so my standards might be different from yours. Also, if you'd ont like the title, please feel free to cry for me, Grandpa

@@rebornabroad> Thanks for the input ! -- I already knew which place was 'better' - for me ! -- But curiosity of perhaps learning something else is why I looked and not maybe what you think. (?) Health care / Insurance is my only real concern left about Siem Reap. Old people have those concerns. A 1 hour cheap flight to Bangkok & excellent Hospitals are doable - unless a real emergency perhaps ? Need more info on Cambodia or perhaps travel insurance (?) not sure yet. --- Standards do vary and going to see what you want is the only way to know what it will actually cost ''you''. > Some say the food is cheaper in Siem Reap - what say you ??? (a few blocks from Pub Street) Which place would - you - prefer to retire on a $1500 budget ???
