I've found this storyline to be less sensitive than other topics which Hollyoaks has covered. Usually the stories reflect some element of truth but with this one I haven't been able to work out the point of it. Sienna especially knows what it's like to have a life changing illness, but Maxine seems to have taken her illness too far. If I were Damon I'd have asked more questions and wondered more about Maxine being miraculously cured. To me this storyline seems to have just fallen flat without any reason for it in the first place. I think overall Hollyoaks is a good soap, but their approach to tackling recovery storylines falls flat, Nancy and Kyle's MS is hardly mentioned, Cleo's bulimia just seems to have disappeared completely, when eating disorders are extremely to fully overcome and now it seems that Maxine is just going to get away with this without any repercussions...
