I can’t stop listening to this song. I’ve heard Charley Pride songs since the ‘70s but never heard this one. Pride’s first single, a good ol’ murder ballad from Mel Tillis’ hand, is perfectly performed here. Sierra is amazing!

For those who have just discovered Sierra and enjoy this song, you really should check out her other version of this song. It a lot different., and I enjoy a lot more., though this is not bad. Her other version has a Gypsy flare to it and she changes the lyrics a little I think. Search the video 'Sierra Ferrell testifies! "Snakes Crawl At Night" Ossipee Valley Music Fest 2021'. You wont regret it.

I am not a country fan. I’m from LA, we don’t listen to country. I was curious about this because I heard Sierra’s In Dreams. This is a solid cover/tribute to the OG version. But when Sierra let her creativity dictate the flow of the music, we were treated to a tango/country fusion version that is quintessentially a perfect fit for her artistry. It really allows for folks like myself to have our eyes opened to this genre.
