An album together would be great. And she plays guitar wonderfully too. Oh, and Justin also plays the mandolin, dobro, and banjo wonderfully too.

These two young musicians are excellent. Sierra Hull has played at the White House with Alison Krauss. She has also done work with acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel. Her husband Justin Moses plays dobro, banjo, guitar and mandolin. I wish more could be done to promote this type of folk, bluegrass and traditional type acoustic country genre music. Many great musicians like Chet Atkins, Jerry Reid, Jerry Rice and Glenn Campbell have passed on. This acoustic folk bluegrass music is too good to allow it to die.

no need to worry (at least right now!) about the music dying!! we've got some AMAZING up and comers

omg, very nice, I'm a new banjo player, I love to try and jam to songs on u tube for practice. When playing with this song everything just sounded right. Good times. I used to be scared to jam with good bluegrass players because of my speed but I found that if I just hang back a bit and harmonize it sounds really cool. Thanks Sierra!

I wish they would show how she set the Venue. Also interesting was where she placed the pickup on the mandolin. I’ve tried it farther under the strings behind the bridge.

Saint Anne's Reel! Practically the National Anthem of Canadian fiddling. The Canadians (les Canadiens) are rabid fiddlers. (Yes, some of them actually do foam at the mouth when they play! :) This is the first fiddle tune I ever learned to play on the guitar. Doc Watson came to Burlington a couple of decades ago, and he played Saint Anne's, seemingly as a local tribute. OMG! Really nice playing, Sierra and Justin!

Lovely music as ever from Sierra (PLEASE COME TO THE UK & EUROPE - I can't afford to come to mandolin land, people would LOVE you here!) but I love the sound - pickup & box (preamp & fx?) + funky studio mic? Hello LR Baggs I am hunting a much improved live sound for my octave mando and this pickupnbox looks good. How much of the sound is the studio mic? Help me!

My only complaint with this system is I still hear the Piezo sound, the plastic sound. Perhaps with a mic it would blend very well and eliminate that annoying sound.

I am not suggesting the unit is bad. I am saying there is an aspect to the sound that sounds "like" a pickup. The film transducer doesn't have that sound. Just an observation. I was at the debut for some of your products in Nashville at The Listening Room...I like what you guys are doing. Don't get me wrong. Maybe I am hearing more of his pick than with Sierra...I don't know. Thanks for the reply though ! -james scott

Um, James, there is no piezo in this system. It's called the Lyric Microphone. I don't think that adding a mic to a mic will help. Just saying. And I think the mando pickup is a film transducer. Not sure what you are hearing. Maybe you need new speakers.
@smtkeyboardkid11 жыл бұрын
the lyric is an improvement on the anthem but it still sounds boxy and nothing like a piezo and mic combo

Sounds pretty good...in fact a little too good to be true. I know for a fact that the preamp they're both are using sounds average at best with different pickups. Haven't tried that mando- or that particular Baggs pickup but the M1 and M80 for guitar sounds quacky and not very nice at all. I can tell you this...no guitar sounds this good directly plugged in to a recording device. There are mics hanging from the ceiling off camera and probably mics on the recording device as well. This is not a proper sample of what the Baggs equipment sounds like in my opinion. Please feel free to disagree...but you'll be wrong!

Meh sounds like piezo, give me a good piezo, a soundhole plug, a fishman aura, and a Boss GE-7 and I can share the stage with a jet engine and a locomotive and still sound clean without feeding back.
