All the measures president Bio claims to have put in place are all fictitious. A majority of the youth of Sierra Leone is severely disadvantaged, exploited and deprived of all resources. It is utterly callous of President Bio to label protesting youths as terrorists. It is a crying shame that Mr. Bio is so disconnected from the genuine concerns of citizens of his country. His response to the protest so far indicates a missing opportunity to better understand citizens' concerns, which could help him serve them better.

This was not about the current suition, the suition has been like this for year. The former government, after been in power for 11 years, left the country in austerity. Bio inherited a broken economy. Most Sierra Leonians are sighted and lack the ability to analysis suition. This president has has so much to deal with in the past 5 years, the Covid pandemic, which he dealt with excellently, and the effect of the War in the Baltic. Yet, meracant are progating division. Our youth are lazy and want every thing handed down to them. The opposition are exploiting this.

People are starving and dying from hunger and poverty. (extracted comments from ALJAZEERA) Governments in Africa especially in my country Sierra Leone should take more responsibility in accepting their failures to make the lives of their citizens better. Citizens are protesting for better and comfortable lives. They are not armed citizens but completely harmless. The law enforcers especially the police are the ones causing the violence. You see many of these people who are saying violent protesters are uttering completely biased statement bcoz we can see and analyse from the videos shown that no protester was with gun shooting at policemen. When you look at the problems in Sierra Leone they are becoming very alarming as of now. This current government is threatening the lives of citizens to express their freedom of speech by sending thugs to beat up people talking about the bad governance in the country. Some of the people who try to express their right to speak are in prison up to this hour. One of our famous Musicians by name of LAJ has been jailed unjustly just bcoz of expressing his freedom of speech. Another victim is a famous political leader of a party PDP (Mohamed Kamaraimba). He was falsely alleged of raping and was imprisoned and still in prison without appearing in court to be judged guilty or not guilty. You see this current government has been deliberately damaging our democracy. During this protest could you believe a whole civilian deputy minister of internal affairs by name of Lahai Lawrence Lema was on the streets with guns and thugs shooting and killing protesters? However you don't see Masella Samba mentioning that or even calling that violent. There is no responsible leadership in our country currently as I speak to you. Just recently the president arrived back home from a vacation. He travels frequently without any benefits for the nation. So if I may list the problems of this current government as of now would be: 1. Absolutely no freedom of speech 2. Political intimidation of opposition parties 3. Very high cost of living 4. Foreign currency exchange rates are very high 5. Unemployment 6. Embezzlement in government institutions 7. Police brutality 8. Poor health facilities 9. Poor environmental conditions in public schools 10. Poor education. 11. Corruption especially within the government heads. Having listed most of the problems, instead of the government representative Masella Samba blaming citizens, let her take responsibility and address the problems of the nation. WE ARE TIRED OF TRAVELING ABROAD FOR GREENER PASTURE! Give us better and comfortable life is all we ask for Mr President. Nothing more. We are really fed up @ALJAZEERA

Protesters didn't mean harm, they only wanted their voices to be hard, but how on earth would a president called his youths terrorist just because they want to express their feelings. It's a shame our president failed us, where is the change that we voted for. God save our nation 🙏🇸🇱🇸🇱

Why did you say Africa is blessed with good people? I disagree with you. Majority of African people were not good simple as that. The people we are in Africa continent is the reflection of the governments we have in Africa continent. A bad trees cannot bearing a good fruits simple as that. We're not good people, because Africa leaders are Africans and they're not foreigners. Thank you.

There is also a complete disconnect between the government and its people! We changed government to affirm a better solution from the optics of the last government but the reality is hard to contained! People see the office of the president as a source of inspiration especially when things are going bad but it’s contrary to Bio’s disposition.

I think western Media should understand a few things. First of all, Africans have land on which to plough and earn a living. African governments have educated people, education they should use to create their own employment. It's disheartening when you hear African voices perpetuate violence under the guise of humanitarian journalism. Why is it that the protesters are never asked tough questions like the leaders. watching BBC focus on Africa leaves one feeling Africa is a crime infested, corrupt continent. There are lots of good stories that you guys will not cover. Eye on Africa is worse. Everything is good and bad. it is what you focus on that brings about the reality and eventually influence how you feel about your life. This is what the BBC is doing in Africa. How come this style of reporting is not done in the UK. There if there are issues, your reporting is responsible and holistically puts things into perspective. I watched focus on Africa on Thursday and the only positive story was one with white talking about the commonwealth games. As you focus on us, we are now focusing on you.

President Bio is not to blamed for the current hardship in Sierra Leone. The previous government lead by EBK/APC party left the country in Austerity. President Bio took office in 2018 with nothing in our reserve account as a country. And with the current global crisis as the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone he has continuously tried his best to make life easy and better for his citizens.
