A bit off topic but a question that came up to me : You are always using the standard barrel profile rahter than e.g. the "Jagdmatch". What are your thoughts on barrel profiles? Thank you much.
@THLR3 жыл бұрын
The thicker profiles are more expensive and heavier. I don't like that. Perhaps not too useful, but that was my thoughts...
@romanruck28753 жыл бұрын
@@THLR Thanks. These are sure good arguments for the lighter barrels. So why take the disadvantage if you have not the feel that the heavy profiles are bringing a clear advantage in harmonics or heat handling.
@THLR3 жыл бұрын
I must add that I haven't shot much with the heavier profiles (my 300NM was a semi, which was nice for the recoil level), but I really don't see what they will offer me over the standard profiles.

Hi Thomas... Ol' JimmyGun here !! I changed my channel name. Hope all is well. LOVE the new production your doing. I still struggle with this. One of the things that drives me nuts practicing is my groups shift when moving to new bullseyes left to right side of the target row. Aiming at the target on the left, I group just left of center, center target I group in the center, target on the right, just right of center??? The shot is acceptable as far MOA but it drives me nuts. I have your THLR shooter error card and I think if its not NPOA it's to much forward pressure with shoulder? Anyway...I hope all is well with you and the family as we all are still going through some shit lately.
@THLR3 жыл бұрын
We are doing reasonably well here, it is somewhat a new version of daily life, but I'd say I've adapted well. Coaching from afar (or in person for that matter) is incredibly difficult, but I'd try cheekpressure & thumb muscle pressure first. If you have too much cheekpressure and move the rifle with the right hand (or left if you're a leftie) and bring the thumbball too much into the stock, you can produce results as described. Be very aware of what you are doing with cheek and thumb (compare, not change) and try moving the rifle more with your support hand. See what happens, it may or may not help.

@tkl96483 жыл бұрын
@THLR3 жыл бұрын
Resten blir nærmest for staffasje å regne.

I use 6,5x55 because of availability/price, I budget 3 barrels lasts 5 years which should be somewhere between more than 3500 to less than 5000 shots per barrel.

@THLR3 жыл бұрын
Try it and see how it goes. It may or may not meet your desired subjective standard. some rifles shoot very well and some just don't. Objectively it will not be able to compete with a dedicated longrange rifle, but that does not exclude you from trying and being happy with how it shoots. I would definitively not invest a lot of $ into this project before you have tried and really decided LR is something you want to do.
