please consider donating the depends to a local women's shelter. I used to work for one doing donations and one of the items we were always in need of was adult diapers. With the aging baby boomers - more people wear them and you would be surprised of the ages in a shelter.

I used almost nothing in my bag. We were in the hospital 4 days and they provided most things. I didn't even change out of my hospital gown until the day we left. They just gave me 2 fresh ones through my stay. You were spot on in your packing! Awesome job, mama.

Not sure if this makes sense but a video on what the hospital provided for you, baby, and Stephen throughout your stay. I know it can differ from hospital to hospital but i still love knowing what people were given and what they used from that. I also want to make a list of this to ask my hospital if they provide for my birth coming up in October! 😊

If this helps I was given a spray bottle, tucks pads, dermaplast, pads and mesh underwear (all the stuff for the downstairs basically). And the hospital said we could take diapers and wipes home!

Mine was a little different and I wished I packed more! I had a c-section as well but this was in June 2020 and I lived an hour away. So my husband couldn’t leave the hospital because of covid and we definitely didn’t bring enough so it was tough! This next time I’m going to over pack!!

@@jenniferwiersma2386 yes same with us! I was in the hospital from Tuesday to the follow Monday and he was born Wednesday and didn’t get out of NICU until the following Friday! It was nerve wracking because we live an hour away and the usually place that would take parents that was a 5 min walk wasn’t because of COVID but thankfully there was a room that opened on that Monday on the NICU for family! It was a blessing!

Yes I had my daughter January 25 and she came home I think February 5/6. Im gonna be a busy mom. September 10 is my due date for this boy and I’m measuring 3-4 weeks ahead. The pic of me on here is of me pregnant now with my son. I feel huge and uncomfortable

I think it would be interesting to see you react to your early pregnancy journey videos, like when you found out you had PCOS or were unsure if you could get pregnant. I understand if that’s still too hard, and you’re not ready, but I think it could be helpful for people in the same situation to someone “on the other side”.

I watched SO many of these while pregnant. So many suggestions, so many "here's what I used" that I felt so conflicted on how to pack. In the end.....I packed WHILE IN LABOR 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I don't recommend that. So if you're watching these in your 3rd trimester...here's another friendly reminder to actually pack!

My daughter was in the NICU and they introduced her to the advent pacifiers which she liked but the base was sooo heavy and she was so tiny, the top heavy binky would constantly fall out. We’ve tried many types of pacifiers and by far, the best have been Tommee Tippee pacifiers. She loves all of them but the lightweight pacifiers specifically are a favorite of hers!

The document folder is such a good idea. When I was born and my little brother after me, my mum was so distracted that she never registered us so we didn't have birth certificates.. which I didn't find out till I needed one at 17 years old. Definitely a good idea haha

Just gave birth June 21. Things I used from my hospital bag: mini fan (recommended by Sierra), stainless Steele water cup, pillow, lip balm, my own shampoo, body wash, etc., postpartum nursing gown and robe, tinted moisturizer and mascara, going home outfits for me and baby, snacks

I bought a pack of 3 colorful knee high compression socks to wear in the last few weeks of pregnancy and wore them through my whole labor. They were black with rainbow stripes and every nurse and doctor loved them. Highly recommend ! I could tuck little things like lip balm and hair ties in the top of my sock because hospital gowns don't have pockets and it kept the swelling down before, during and after labor!

I barely used anything I had put in my hospital bag. I’m definitely impressed that you did use as much as you did. I know daddy didn’t use the majority of the things he packed either. We also swear by the swaddle me swaddles! They have been a life saver.

I think it is always better to be overprepared than underprepared! When my partner went into labor, it was very much out of the blue, so I am glad we had everything squared away. Throughout her third trimester, she teased me about packing too much, but almost everything she asked for during her two day long labor we had right in our bag! The day is already stressful enough for the parents even without adding things like missing phone chargers to the mix.

The thing I learned from this video: stay to to yourself and pack in a way that gives you ease of mind. For example, you know best if you want fresh pajamas every other day or if you are happy using one for a week.

First and foremost, congrat on baby girl! She is absolutely beautiful!! And just for future reference: ask the hospital for bath wipes instead of using the wet ones wipes. I’ve had so many surgeries over the past 4 years. They will give you a pack of bath wipes. They give them to me to take home when I can’t shower for a few days.

I had a Myomectomy to remove a fibroid, which is the exact same surgery as a C-section. The first two weeks were the hardest and I only wore dresses. After that I did wear jeans and underwear. I'm 4 months post-op and I am at like 85%. I still have some numbness and slight abdominal pain. I also had 4 keyhole incisions because initially they were planning a laparoscopic surgery but the fibroid was too large.

The one thing I wished I had with my first baby was things to do and read! My hubby had to grab magazines from the hospital gift shop for me. With my subsequent 4 babies, I took books, Kindle, and thank you notes to complete.

As someone who experienced birth trauma this past April with delivering my preemie (27 weeker) it has been so hard to watch birth vlogs and videos of the like. But with your videos I don't have as hard of a time. I think its just the calming, welcoming vibe you give off so I dont find myself feeling that triggered "fight or flight" trauma response. I’m glad you talked about snacks. We did not pack nearly enough snacks, and due to covid my spouse was not allowed to leave the hospital and come back. At one point we had to have my mother in law bring our car seat (our girly was a premie and had to do a carseat test) and we had her fill the carseat with extra snacks as a way to sneak them into the hospital, lol

I had an urgent c-section a few days before you. I wore the mesh underwear with the pad for like a day only because I wasn't sure if the hospital wanted me to for any particular reason. I eventually asked if I could wear depends, was told yes, and LOVED it way more than the mesh underwear! So much less faffing about! My incision seems to be extremely low comparatively, though, so perhaps the mesh is better if it's a bit higher??

I love this idea! I'm a chronic over packer and it's nice to get a general idea on what's more likely needed. I'll probably still pack my whole house when the time comes though 😂
