​@@kenkur27 zatopek did not compete!win medals in the 1500m event. Nurmi did not run marathons. With a different schedule Hassan might have run the 1500m inParis. In 2023 in between winning 2 marathon majors she won a 1500mbronze, 5k silver , and fell in contention for 10k at thw wch in Budapest !

Not sure if she would be fastest to break the WR, I think she is more an incredible racer being able to take advantage of her super strong kick! But she will always be part of the favorites for the marathon the next couple of World Championship cycles, even if she still competes on the track as well.

Contrary to that Sifan Hassan ran the second best time ever in Chicago after a long and lonely solo. So this week we have seen Hassan 'kick' three times, but there is much more to the lady.

Agreed... But that was before the East African like Kenya and Ethiopia runners are there. Nowadays... Almost none of marathoners run for other events. Even professional marathoners normally run only few marathon a year except Yuki.

True, there is the story of Emil Zatopek. His PB on the marathon is 2:23. Hassan just did that on this though course. So it is hard to compare both achievements ofcourse. In my opinion this triology is much harder.
