AFAIK, literally everything else can be unlocked and used by the player (and it's not too difficult to unlock _every_ skill if you never restart from the very beginning).

Just beat yang at age 20 on my probably my 6th-ish playthrough. Got through the first 4th missions without having to restart once and then beat yang on the second try. Massive thanks for helping me get this good at sifu

I really dislike the fact they don’t let you use focus. It fucked my entire build. Feels like I wasted my time trying to get the focus regain and focus bars up. They could at least let you do the damn slap you unlock from that mask in the museum, it doesn’t even do any damage..

Ok soo, I spent at least 5 hours stuck at the club boss before figuring out I could just hold LB and just move the stick down to dodge instead doing it keybind combo at once, since that was not working at all. Rest of the game was fine but last boss is wasting me. I noticed how you are dodging the lower swipes and I realized the dodge is DIRECTIONAL. Maybe I missed this detail in the tutorial but sure they did not do a great job advertising it. Anyway thanks dude for pointing me in the right direction, literally.

They do teach you it in the tutorial, plus there’s many enemies that have low attacks and normal high attacks that should be dodged appropriately.

@@rhett6946 As I said I don't think they ever showed that you can dodge low attacks, having enemies that do those attacks itself is not self explanatory that the dodge was directional, to me at least. Also the guy you fight in the training at the base does not do any low attacks

Its a bit confusing yeah because of timing: the tutorial says to dodge low and high with up and down, but during a first playthrough you might try this and miss because of timing, and think its not like that. You can dodge almost 90% of attacks high with just DOWN + lb. There are some attacks that even with avoid will be unavoidable, so those need to be dodged. Hope this helps a bit and good luck :)

I suppose he died in his fight against Yang, being in the afterlife in the ending, and motivating Yang to act more like his old master, and train a young student.

When he died as a 12 year old, he was denied access to the afterlife because of the pendant. He thought that maybe taking revenge on Yang would lead him back to the afterlife, but that's not the right answer. He needs to learn Wude, which is martial morality. It was to teach him to never use kung fu to kill, but to respect those he fought and other moralities.

In the secret ending, Yang took his pendant and killed him, and then he went to the afterlife, but Yang is sorry, he felt regret. In the post credit scene, we see a "New Sifu" training a child, it was probably Yang motivated to continue his Old Sifu's legacy, or Yang revived the protagonist and then the protagonist became the "New Sifu". (Yang can revive things, like he revived that bird. He may have revived the protagonist, or returned the pendant to him.)

Sean has a lot of highs the first phase. Grab a staff because when you punish him it knocks him down. Save your focus for the 2nd phase. Wait for him to come to you The 2nd phase he has a sweeping low he'll charge in with. He'll still spam the high attacks.

@@FedShillFred you have to have killed them once, then on your next run you can spare them by lowering their hp in their 2nd phase until you get the spare prompt - just ignore the takedown prompt.

@@FedShillFred deal as much damage to their structure and not their health, by blocking and weaving and light attacking. once you bring their structure down once, dont execute them and let them recover, then do the same again. the second time their structure breaks you will have the option to execute AND spare them. I'm not sure what it is on ps, but on pc its pressing 2. youll see a prompt on screen

Tbh i never found this boss to be that hard. I don’t know why, maybe because i didn’t play through the game, i mastered each level then moved to the next. Parrying is key in this boss. Since getting his health all the way down to 0 is going to take a very long time, breaking his structure is the fastest way. When attacking him, if he parried your attack, he will almost always follow up with Raining Strikes. Once this happens, just spam L1 and you will parry his attacks. It will damage his structure quick, and you will eventually master this fight.
