Kung Fu Snake 🐍 + Choy Li Fut Footwork

In this video we explore Snake striking techniques paired with Choy Li Fut footwork. Snake style can be performed either internal with slow and smooth movements, external with fast and explosive movements, or balanced with a mix of the two. As soon as you find your preferred pace, treat the pattern as a platform for training that can be adapted to your preference in style or tendencies in movement. Eventually you can add to the pattern however you want. Learn the moves, learn expression through moves, express yourself by creating the sequence.
But only after many hours of serious practice.

It truly is fascinating how different style interpret the snake strategy. In (my) wing chun, snake is much more compact and doesn't spin or turn away from the opponent. I also interpret snake in the sense of striking and constricting, and use the snake strategy of trapping, wrapping and squeezing as well.

Yes, you can learn many styles if you want. Many systems teach 5 to 10 animals. There is no perfect animal by itself, that is why they are taught after the main art/fighting style is mastered. I know that Hung Gar has a Tiger/Crane form, and in Choy Li Fut we have a Tiger/Dragon Form, but you can really pair any of them however you want.
