Thanks for the nod to the SIG 522. They ARE great .22 LR rifles. Too bad SIG USA discontinued them. Fat chance they’ll bring them back as they 86’ed the SIG 556 & 551A1 rifles.

I love my 522! I haven't had any issues with feeding from my mags, but I appreciate the tip!

awesome, thanks for commenting.....know your year of manufacture by chance?

@@HKShootingwithDerekG, it's an early one. I bought it in January 2010, S/N XA0058xx.

@@MadPick fits what I've seen.....seems like most of the early ones have the looser magwell fitment....if you ever have issues this fix will work!

Those 556s are really neat guns!

So can you say specifically what it is about the 522 that makes you favor it more than -- gasp -- the HK 416?
@HKShootingwithDerekG3 ай бұрын
Yes, that is easy! Remember, the HK416 22lr is made by Walther and it is the 22lr assembly in a shell that looks like a 416. The mechanism on the 416 is hard to clean, has a thin barrel, and a god awful trigger. It does work and fire all kinds of ammo and is fairly accurate. The Sig 522 is a design of it's own to replicate the big brother Sig 556. It was made by Sig. It is sized very close to the 556, has a thick barrel, a pretty good trigger, is easy to disassemble for cleaning/maintenance, is utterly reliable, and incredibly accurate past 25 yards. It is my all time favorite tacticool 22lr and a blast to go woods walking with it!!!!!

Hi, I have the Sig 522lr target version and would love to fit a bi pod. I have read about people using cuff rails, alternatively I would love to know if it is easy to replace the hand guard for something with picatinny capability. Can you help me please?
@HKShootingwithDerekG3 ай бұрын
@@tankmatthews there is a rail kit for your gun but if you don’t already have it, you will have a hard time finding one. Since you sound like you will be doing some static shooting and weight isn’t an issue, I’d highly suggest the picatinny handguard for the 522 made by Samson.

@@HKShootingwithDerekG Thanks very much for the reply. Can you advise how to remove the target hand guard please?
