Sig 716 first impressions

First shots from a Sig 716. Checking function, zeroing, and comparing suppressed to unsuppressed shooting.
Shot with a GoPro Hero 3, source video was 1920x1080 at 48FPS, but editing brought it down to 30FPS and 720P, and then uploading it to KZbin made it into whatever it is now...

What do you think the cause of the FTE was? Just a gas setting for the ammo you were using? I am thinking about getting this rifle but have been reading issues with FTEs and FTFs.

Did the heat occur during normal gas settings or were you turning the setting off?

What was that maneuver with the butt stock when you cleared that FTF?

That's "mortaring" to clear a failure to extract. Important to watch muzzle, collapse butt stock, place pressure on charging handle and drive it into the ground to pull the case out of the chamber.

Suppressed setting is only useful when using subsonic ammunition. My guess is using normal load and the gas setting being incorrect for it allowed the brass casing to expand without proper force on the bolt group to extract. :-)

Not true, the suppressed setting -reduces- gas through the gas port to offset the increased back pressure caused by the can, and is for supersonic ammo.

+sandsunsurf72 also my guess is the malfunction occurred due to being not well lubed as a brand new BCG and rifle with tight tolerances.
