So glad I came across your video because I was thinking I was the only person who ever had this problem. I haven’t had more than 1000 rounds through it and it happened three times so far. I purchased OEM trigger bar springs and have replaced the original with them. However, it happened two more times and Sig told me to send it back to them and it would be under warranty as long as I didn’t do any work on it. Well, I had to qualify with it so of course I had to work on it!!! Someone pointed out that the one end of the spring sits in a notch in the magazine well and it sticks out a fraction too long and magazines pop the spring off. All five of my magazines had marks with the end of the tab was striking the spring. I filed the end of the spring tab a fraction and hope it holds up.

The first P365s had a lot of them with springs too long and were scratching the mags. Thought they had fixed all of them by now. Also make sure the other end of the spring is seated in the hole on the trigger return bar. Hope it works now. Thanks for watching and sharing what you’ve found.

Well I recently found that filing a little off of the trigger spring didn’t fix the problem. I was really disappointed being told by a CS representative from Sig that I voided the warranty by dissembling the FCU. I finally purchased a spring that is supposed to be about a stronger spring. I carried Sig’s on the job after we got rid of the revolvers. Sig 9mm then Sig 40 caliber and NEVER had one single problem. Planning on taking it to a good gunsmith if the new spring doesn’t fix the problem. Purchased a bunch of extra OEM Sig parts if it helps the gunsmith. I don’t get that warm fuzzy feeling when I’m in the WallyWorld parking lot at night and see someone that I put in prison.

Obviously theres garbage, and if the intended use is self defense then there is zero room for grabage. But.... even quality arms malfunction, knowing how to troubleshoot/repair malfunctions on your own is IMO the most important aspect of firearm ownership and use. You must understand how the weapon functions in entirety. Im an AR guy, build all my own stuff, most of it from mid grade parts, from time to time someone will jab with "thats not Daniel Defense" or any other top tier platform. Those same guys 5 mins later will be fighting ftf's or other malfunctions, get pissed, throw it back in the case and ill see em stop at the gun shop and huck it in there, and hear them complain about how much they paid and the dang gun dont work. Meanwhile my midgrade garbage, once sorted out initially, just keeps ticking every single time I go out. Knowing how to troubleshoot, repair, and tune firearms into reliable operation is paramount. In a shtf situation you cant run to the shop you bought it from. Figure it out, make it work, move forward. And all guns malfunction at some point, its just whether you can get it back functional or not.

I just bought mine and 62 shots later on the day that I bought it, the slide no longer returns on its own. It feels like its bone dry and that the metal is binding, but after disassembling, it has plenty of oil. You have to force the slide back into its closed position after every shot. It stops maybe 1/2 an inch when it tries to close on its own (after every shot). The shop that I bought it from said that theyve never seen that happen and that it needs to go in as a warranty claim :( Made me want to cry. Brand new out of the box. Needless to say, the shop told me about all of the Sig horror stories that theyve seen. Basically called it an overpriced POS. Still, I love the way that it shoots plus it looks really cool!

The shop is still in possession of it (I have to wait for the 7 day cool down period to expire before I can bring the gun home), however I can go there and shoot it at their range whenever I want. Anyway, you inspired me to go up there today to break the gun down and try to fix the issue myself. Welp, I fixed it!! Im a newbie mind you (this is my first gun). I looked up known issues with this gun and found that the slide not returning to battery is pretty common. My first mistake was that I shot the gun right out of the box. I didnt know that I was supposed to clean it before shooting it the first time. My q-tips all looked like I dipped them in tar by the time I finished the initial cleaning. I oiled it up after cleaning and the slide started to function way smoother. I broke it down again, cleaned and oiled it 2 more times and kept racking the heck out of it. Finally, it started to return to battery as smooth as butter! The guy at the shop was kind enough to let me use their range for free to make sure all was good. I put 50 rounds through it with zero issues!! Super happy right now! Sir, thank you so much for this video. I'm done with Sig for my off duty carry gun. Not that I don't like Sig but the process of a complete breakdown of this pistol takes too long imo. The Sig FCU is a major pain and if time is on the line you'll run out of it. I've been carrying the G43x mos for a few months now and couldn't be happier. Glock gets a lot of crap but simplicity is what makes Glock so unique imo. Most people don't care about that but I do. Thanks for sharing.
@Kornholeeoo2 жыл бұрын
I get it. I do. I still love my G45. I had the G43X and it shot great but I did have a problem with the slide release/slide stop when the gun got hot. It stuck out like a quarter inch and the polymer stuff got mushy right beside the slide stop. It scared me. Now…I was mag dumping 20 round S15 mags with 5 round extensions like 4 in a row on a day where it was 100° outside. But when the slide locked back on the last round, it was sticking out a quarter inch. When I pulled the slide back and released it, it all went back in place. I let it cool down and then ran some Glock 10 round mags through it and after a couple of mags, it did it again with the factory mags. Never had that happen and it’s never happened on my G45. So I lost some confidence in the small G43X and G48. I think the grip frames are thicker on the newer MOS ones with the light rails. But cleaning a Glock is easier. But I’ve learned that to clean the FCU on the Sig, just blast it with break cleaner and then spray it with REM oil and it’s an easy job. Then clean the slide and barrel. I can take the FCU apart and put it back together pretty quickly though. But as for shooting, the G43X and G48 were great shooters. I just like the 17 round mag capacity of the X Macro. If Glock could do that with their smaller guns, I’d buy one. But my Sig is on my hip and my G45 is locked in a quick safe in the truck when I’m out driving.

@Kornholeeoo2 жыл бұрын
Dang. That’s the takedown pin. That should never pop out on its own. That’s what holds the fire control group in the frame. There is a small C-clip, well more like a D-clip, that holds that pin in place. I show this in my other video. I’d make sure it’s in place. Then make sure the pin goes in place like it should. If the pin was not seated in its proper place from the factory, it may pop out. But put it in place where the clip is fitting in the grove on the pin. If it won’t hold in place, it may need to be sent back to SIG.

Also if you have any other opinions or something to steer me towards to take a look at I'd appreciate it Great video by the way
@Kornholeeoo2 жыл бұрын
Hey. This is a great question and one I may not be able to answer for you as I have never shot a Hellcat. Only held one of the originals the week they came out. I was not a fan as it heavily relied on a mag extension for a full grip. The original P365 did as well, which is why I sold it too. Now the Pro model has a longer grip and I have a friend who is a Police Officer and he swears by the Hellcat Pro. It is his backup gun. He prefers it over the P365XL and states he has never shot the X Macro yet. Now this is the only information I have on the Hellcat from my experience and from others that I personally know and trust. I should have my Officer friend over one day and he and I can shoot each others gun. He could shoot the X Macro and I could shoot the HC Pro. It doesn’t answer your question for you and I’m sorry. Looking at the ergonomics of the HC Pro, it would appear to be a great gun to shoot. I can assure you the X Macro is awesome to shoot as the comp cutouts on the slide do work and they do help to keep the gun shooting very flat. Sight acquisition on follow up shots are very fast. The trigger travel is a bit long as most striker fired guns are, but other triggers can help. I have the MCARBO trigger and I added Sig tall sights to cowitness with my red dot. That’s all I’ve done. You can do this with the HC Pro as well I’m assuming. But the modularity of the P365 series is an edge up in my opinion and with the comp cutouts I’d have to give it the win to me, even without having shot the HC Pro. The Sig is amazingly accurate and it’s accuracy has impressed me quite a bit. But I would advise you to go to a range and rent both and shoot both if you want to see for yourself. I would hate to lead you to one or the other and you end up hating the gun, but I’d bet either would be perfect for carry. I know the X Macro is a great carry gun. So is the P365XL. I just found one in a LGS This weekend for a great price and had to buy it. I’ve had 3 XL models now. Sold the other two and missed them. Then bought the X Macro and it is my new all time favorite. The Glock G43X MOS is also a great option but it only has 10 round mags. You can buy Shield Arms S15 mags though. Great options today for smaller carry guns with higher capacities and I must say, Sig is the reason for this as they were the first to do it with the P365. Some people have had issues with rust but this is not the first time we have seen rust on carry guns that are not kept clean and inspected on a regular basis. I check mine weekly and have had no issues with rust in the past 40 or so years of daily carry with any gun. If you are betting your life on a gun, keep it in perfect working order. I hope you find the gun you want soon and get training on it and train regularly. Thanks for watching!!!

Thanks for posting this. I'll be picking one up soon, and at least know what to do if it happens to me. I guess these aren't test fired at the factory?
@Kornholeeoo2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t think to check for any residue before I fired it. There was no spent case in the box like we get with some guns. I’d have to say it was not test fired. But as I’ve stated, after I put the spring in its place, it ran perfectly. And it shoots really flat with the comp cutouts. Just have to be aware of the comp if you have to fire in your vehicle. Extend those arms and lean back or you’ll get a blast from that comp!

I hear ya. Normally I take each new gun apart and clean it before shooting. Rare occasions that I just shoot it out the box. But I had other stuff to do and time was limited so I shot it right out the box. When I buy a used gun, I ALWAYS take it apart and check everything out and clean it before shooting. I’ve found some crazy stuff people have done. Like changing springs for different weights and such. I just made a video on my Springfield Champion Operator 1911 and someone had put in a very light hammer spring and I had a bunch of failure to fires. Put in the correct weight spring and it runs perfect now. You just never know. I personally do recommend this gun. It’s perfect for conceal carry and with 17 + 1 rounds, it’s perfect.

For a new gun with rust problems on magazines and barrel flacking failure to feed , and now this ,what more can go wrong ,I won't trust my life on it
@Kornholeeoo2 жыл бұрын
I’ve owned 5 of the P365s in various versions and I’ve never had issues with rust. But I do keep my guns clean. Now having said that, I went to my LGS just this morning and they had two used XLs. One had 3 mags and a Romeo Zero on it with the metal guard. And it was a reasonable price of $599. And he wouldn’t come off the price a penny. But…2 of the mags had a lot of surface rust and the gun was filthy and it appeared to have rust in the lands and grooves of the barrel. He also had an XL with just 2 mags. Both had the boxes and all the paperwork. But the second one was pristine condition and one of the mags was still new in the plastic wrapper. It had never been loaded. The second mag has slight marks from being loaded but no drag marks on the mag follower. You can see the tiny dent where it had been loaded but after shooting the gun, the follower will have drag marks where the slide rips the last round out. This one doesn’t have that. It’s possible this gun hasn’t been shot or if it has, maybe one mag. And they cleaned it because it is shiny. I bought it for $525 out the door and that’s what they were asking, so they paid my taxes on it. The problem with the gun in this video was simply the trigger return spring was not installed perfectly. I was able to put it back in properly and I’ve had no other issues. I now have close to 1500 rounds through it and there is no rust anywhere. Hope to get to shoot the XL this weekend that I bought this morning. No gun is perfect and no company is perfect. I am honest in my videos and if something is wrong, I will show it. But if something proves to be good quality, even thought there may have been a hiccup, I will also show that. The X Macro is a fantastic gun in my opinion and it is my daily carry about 95% of the time. I still carry my Glock G45 and my 4” 1911 sometimes too. I hope you find a gun that works for you because that’s what it’s all about. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it!!

I don’t disagree at all. But I have tools with me all the time. Plus it was quicker, easier and cheaper to fix it myself than send it back. It was just a spring that wasn’t set in place properly from the factory. Every company, no matter what they build, will have something like this happen from time to time. I’ve bought many guns in my 50+ years of shooting. Not the first time something like this has happened. I’m just glad it was an easy fix. I have over 2000 rounds through it now with no other issues at all. So I’m happy with it. I did buy another X Macro frame for my XL too. The 17 round capacity and grip frame are perfect. And I can easily hide them on my frame too! LOL. Are they charging $900 now? I got mine for $800. I’ve seen them at shops from $775 to $840 so shop around before paying $900.

🤣 I have had one Glock that had overheating issues. A 43X that when it got hot, the slide release stuck out like a quarter inch when it locked the slide back after the mag was empty. And the plastic around it was squishy to the point I thought it was going to permanently deform. Drop the mag and let the slide go home and the slide release tab went back like normal. Shoot another mag through it and it did it again. If I let the gun sit in the shade and cool down, it worked normally. But run 3 full mags through it and get it hot again and the slide release would stick out again after the last round fired. Never saw anything like it. Sold it.

@Kornholeeoo Жыл бұрын
@@superrad1659 The BALDR S is just millimeters larger and has the ability to switch from 100 lumens to 800. You just double tap the switch. The Mini is just 600 lumens. Both have lasers. Both have two screws you can tighten to set the lock rail where you want it for your gun. The light is on its own rail and you can move the lights forward or backwards to fit your liking, then you flip the lock lever to set it. But every time you release the lever, there is a chance the light could move on the rail. So they have two set screws you can tighten so it won’t move when you remove the light and it’s an easier return to zero when reinstalled.

Never settle with guns that majorly malfunction when it comes to protecting your life with a pistol. Poor quality.
@Kornholeeoo Жыл бұрын
I do agree. But I don’t consider this gun poor quality due to this malfunction as it was a process error in assembly. Was it aggravating? Yes! But I’ve since put well over 3500 rounds through this gun with no issue. I’ve disassembled and reassembled it many times for deep cleaning and the issue never repeated itself. I am convinced that the malfunction was due to the spring not being seated in the trigger return bar’s little hole. Once I fixed it, ie. put the spring in correctly, the gun has performed perfectly. It is also extremely accurate for the barrel length. I’ve owned guns that were poor quality in either design or materials and sometimes you can fix those issues and sometimes you cannot. In my opinion, that was not the case here. It was simply an assembly issue and from what I’ve heard from some who watch my channel, it has happened to others but not on a large scale.
