I've owned several 1911's, the only one I have currently is a Springfield a1 milspec, that I gutted and rebuilt with Wilson combat interals. Tungsten hammer, full length tungsten guide rod, tungsten sear, new springs, polished her up a bit, and so on. It's a fantastic gun. I have never carried it. Doesn't make much sense to me to carry a gun that hold 7+1, that's heavier, and uses a hammer with an incredibly sensitive trigger. I know it has a safety and blah blah but I don't carry guns with a safety on. Ever. My carry is a sig p320. I love it. It's a very reliable and accurate pistol. It feels great in my hands. 17+1. One of the few pistols that I can comfortably and accurately shoot with either hand. I understand that doesn't matter to most people but it does to me. I like mixing it up and practicing with each hand.

I didn't even have to take my offhand out of my pocket to count the FTB in 120ish rounds after getting SIG's preservative off it, but that is still too many. Interesting. I'm not a hater or fanboy of any firearm manufacturer. I have a P365 and have better than a 1000 rounds through mine. NO PROBLEMS. In fact. I left my P365 in the rod locker of my bass boat during July Alabama heat and humidity by accident for about 2 weeks. The damn thing did have rust on the front and rear sights. And had about 300 rounds through it without a cleaning. Shot about a 100 rounds through for kicks and didn't have a single problem. Yeah. afterward I showed it the love and gave it a full spa day and it looks as good as new. Perhaps I got the golden nugget of the bunch and got lucky. But I refuse to be a hater. I respect the research and development process. What I find very interesting is that US Army is investing mega millions in the P320 (M17) and several countries around the world have placed great faith in the Sig product line. And yep the 320 had some issues as well. And truthfully, I think it was a bad idea for the US Army to reject the M9A3 that would have been a much easier transition for the armories and soldiers over the M17. And that is not a rip on Sig or Beretta. Perhaps, just perhaps Sig did not fully vet the firearm before marketing. But the M16 had a boat load of problems in Viet Nam. But not too many people 50yrs later would say the AR platform was a failure. And Sig has lost and spent a boat load of money honestly trying to rectify the problems. Instead of being haters, be developers. The world would work better that way.

@mohawk33716 жыл бұрын
You're assuming this, and you don't know this for a fact. Also riding the slide release would explain the slide not locking back on the last round, it does not explain the pistol repeatedly failing to go into battery.

He’s also riding the slide with his thumb, guaranteed. When you put pressure on the slide with your thumb you can cause FTE’s, failure to return to battery and all sorts of stuff. You can really tell he doesn’t shoot very much.
@mohawk33716 жыл бұрын
@@Banshee365 it may be true that riding the slide is contributing to the malfunctions. However, not every pistol react the same way to the same level of pressure being applied to the slide. How much slide pressure is required to cause a malfunction depends on the slide velocity, the recoil spring, and excessive internal friction due to tight tolerances, or something obstructing the movement of the slide. From the number of people experiencing these types of malfunctions with this pistol, it seems to me that it is much more sensitive ti pressure being applied to the slide, then other pistols of that size. I have quite a few pistols, including several small subcompact and even pocket pistols, and I tend have a high grip, and ride the slide a little bit on all of them, yet never experienced these types of malfunctions.

mo hawk: I have over 1,800 rds through my P365 & I’ve had ZERO malfunctions. Every shooter is different as this video proves. Two of the 3 shooters had no problems whatsoever. When shooting these small subcompact pistols I think a modified grip is best. Thumb placement is key to running them smoothly. Obviously the 3rd shooter was doing something different in the video & he even admitted he was riding the slide lock in the video. The P365 has gotten a bad rap but not all the issues are gun related. This video proves my point.
@mohawk33716 жыл бұрын
@@glockoholics7512 when you have that high percentage of pistols on the market having failures, and that high percentage of people that have a problem with this pistol, it is not likely that it's just the habits of the shooter that's the problem. As I said it's quite possible that pressure on the slide is contributing to the malfunctions, but given the number of people having these types of issues with the p365 it seems evident that it is more sensitive to that sort of thing than other pistols and its class. Every gun is physically different and I'm glad your example works well for you, but there's clearly an issue with either the design, or Sig's manufacturing process for this pistol.

7 out of 10 of the P365s I sold when they came out have gone back to Sig for repair. Not a good ratio. If the trigger reset spring issue (spring that drags on mag) hasn't been fixed then it's still no-bueno. We've seen that spring break from fast mag changes and the lip of the back of the mag catching on that spring and breaking it. The result is a gun that only fires when held upside-down. I don’t think it’s physically possible for a human being to cycle a highpoint carbine fast enough for long enough to heat up a highpoint to the point of failure. Even JM’s superhuman finngers would cramp up cycling that god awful trigger before he could melt that gun down.

I swapped the striker with the upgraded Lightning Strike striker (just because I could), and added a Lima365 laser. Absolutely love it and haven't had one single issue in several hundred rounds of various ammo. It happily eats HSTs and literally disappears IWB. Sig definitely has a winner here.
@MylesDavid6 жыл бұрын
I have 2500 plus hundred rounds through my 365 without a single issue firing every round. Mine is a second gen and was purchased in May of 2018! My front sight broke off while firing at around 2000 rounds or so. I called Sig and they sent me another one out and I received it just a few days later and have continued with zero issue. I love the gun. FYI- I think it is important to understand the uniqueness of the magazine capacity in relation to its size. Yes it is a double stack however, it is much thinner than a any other double stack made. It’s just a slightly thicker than a glock 43 single stack mag. My glock 42 mag with the SI extension on it giving it two extra rounds for a total of 8 in the mag is taller than the 365 mag holding 12 rounds. My point is that the Sig365 holds way more rounds than the glock 42,43 or even the 26 and it is smaller than all of them! As for recoil, in my opinion, it is less snappy than the G43. It’s less angry of a snap and very very manageable. I promise this to be true! I carry it with the Sig 115grain defense ammo and practice with a variety of 115grain ball ammo and it shoots super great. Interesting idea on the porting though and I think I will try doing that to mine! Did I tell you that this gun is smaller than my Glock42 and holds 12+1 rounds! Pretty fantastical! HA! Biggest negative in my view is Sig’s lack of addressing the issues with the first gen of the P365 publicly! They should have made a solid KZbin video talking about it openly and telling everyone what they were going to do to make the situation right and then kept us up to date as they solved it. That to me would have been superb integrity. Other than that, Sig makes sole of the best firearms out there. 👍🏼

You are the first reviewer to be somewhat critical of the trigger! I completely agree with your comment about "sponginess", but at least it's consistent and you can train around that. I have also experienced the problem of the slide not locking back, and I know it's because of my grip . . . I attribute this problem to the fact that it's so much smaller than my other pistols. The P365 requires a commitment to train with it. GREAT VIDEO!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing your follow-up videos on this gun.

Perfect example of not every gun fits every shooter. I've been keeping my eye on the P365 videos to see if Sig is working out the kinks. I love shooting steel, love to see people demonstrating safety as well. That being said, put your eye pro on Matt. Especially when shooting steel. Very rarely is there splash back, but I've seen it happen several times. Sometimes the shooter gets it, sometimes the range safety officer.

Ive owned this gun for 2 months and have 1500 rounds through it(all 1500 have had primer drag). Ive not encountered any issues with its passed 350 rounds. I had the same issue with the gun not going into battery caused by the firing pin assembly sliding the backplate down. But like i said after the first 350 rounds i never had an issue with going into battery, or any other issues at all. Other than the slide not staying open when newer shooters handle the gun i havent been dissapointed in this product and have really been enjoying taking it to the range. About 350 of the rounds ive shot through the gun have been factory loads other than that the rest have been handloads. Once i encountered the issue with it not going into battery i lightened my handloads and i like to think that may have been the reason it has been fine since. Every time i had the battery issue (which was 3 or 4 times) i was shooting my reloads. I hope this info is helpful to other shooters out there!

Mine is a sample size of only one, but I have 1500 rounds through my P365 with no problems so far. Some folks are happy shooting just one box of ammo, and others could shoot 5 or 10 thousand rounds and still be sure that the very next round will be the catastrophic failure. I still shoot mine regularly, and I am satisfied enough to carry it daily. If you think it's a trash gun, then don't buy it. At the end of the day, it is up to YOU what you buy, and it is also YOUR call as to when it has been tested to satisfaction, whether that is a with single box of ammo or 10 thousand plus rounds. I went from carrying a Glock 30 (45ACP), for the past 20 years, to the Sig P365. It felt like I went from carrying a brick to, at times, not even realizing that I was even carrying. That's how huge of a difference there is in weight and size. So far, I love this piece and definitely recommend checking it out at your shooting range... Thumbs up on the video and a sub from me... I believe the p365 is a game changer in the ccw world. Regarding primer drags, Glock 43, S&W Shield and some of the other sub compacts exhibit primer drags. I believe this is a non issue and inherent on small platforms. Springy trigger maybe a break in thing. Broken firing pins was a quality control issue that resulted in the pins be brittle and breakage occurred due to dry firing, Sig has addressed this issue. Some carry guns will never see 500 rounds.
@thedriver54626 жыл бұрын
Sorry for asking, but game changer how exactly?
@velos39896 жыл бұрын
I think I speak for everyone who is considering purchasing this gun, we would love to see a burn down. With the striker redesign, I believe that the broken striker issue has been resolved and, being cognizant of the trigger return spring protruding into the magwell and reducing its profile, if it needs it (like you did), to prevent it from disconnecting takes care of all the major problems people have been having with it. That said, the best way to know for sure would be to sling a lot of lead down range and see if the design is inherently flawed or if the rolling changes allow it to perform as intended. I know seeing how it fares under the extreme conditions of a burn down would help me make a final opinion of this potentially awesome and very innovative micro!
