20x looking this video. Always dreaming spot. Weighted flies give strange feeling at the first cast, because you have the fear to hit the rod. But you re right, if you work with a heavy sinking line, it s not work very well and miss fish. I need to come in this beautifull country or maybe @niklaus come one time in switzerland 😅. Absolutely fantastic. I have a question, as a member of the "fly only" team I fish fly since now 30 years. I am a predator fly fishermen (Pike, Zander and perch), A lot of experts says always you must do a strip set when you set the hook for predator, but for you, Niklaus Bauer I see that you only do a sort of very powerful trout set and it seems that it is efficient. Could you explain a little. All the best with a lot admiration. Your piker red and white pattern allow me to catch a 115 cm a little more than 10 kilos, one more time great thanks and continue to help us to dream.

Hi man Well a strip strike is almost always better because if you don’t succeed in hooking the pike the fly is still in the fish eyesight and they will often take again. Sadly I fish so many different species with fly so my brain doesn’t sort it out that well 😉😂😂 so I guess this is the best I can do, it has worked well the last 35 years so I’m not so worried about it, but of course there are other species that you really need to strip strike but pike and Zander works well like this.
